Wifey and I are going through old pictures. She used to fly through Japan a lot in the early 2000s for work. Her co-workers were huge baseball fans and always went to Siebu Lions games. This is a program from 2003. Check out their star pitcher!

Ah, Kaz Matsui. In an era when everyone was looking for (and looking to anoint) the next Ichiro, Matsui just got a bit too much hype for what he was.
Definitely a decent player over here. But not what the American media was trying to make him out to be.
