That’s not bad at all
This kind of blows my mind. So will we still have several mil in dead cap space for the next 2 years? I’m still not 100 on how that rookie deal is structured.
Maybe this is all so we can just cut a check for Bosa?

Seems a good decision. The staff clearly didn’t like what they saw in practice. Kind of hard to understand some of the fandom this guy had for me, Purdy came in and produced, Lance clearly wasn’t up to scratch yet. I don’t understand why people wanted him to be better than Purdy so badly. I hope for his sake he can go and make a good career at the Cowboys

He should get plenty of playing time now.
Trading him was the right move and this is pretty good compensation given how little good play he’s put on tape, but this pick has to go down as one of the all time worst draft blunders.
This front office needs to seriously reevaluate the process that led them to trading up for and drafting Trey Lance to ensure that a fuck up of this magnitude never happens again.
For everyone saying drafting needs to get better – this team is loaded with home grown talent.
We just whiffed on this one because our very last pick a year ago is a baller
Bosa getting signed tomorrow.
If taking his(Lance) contract off the books and giving it to Bosa is that little extra push they need to get his(Bosa) contract signed it’s worth it in my opinion

Already heard from a Niner buddy “this is Charles Haley all over again, we giving away talent to Dallas, etc”.
Not the same thing at all. Haley was a proven stud and a three time pro-bowler BEFORE we practically gave him away to Jerry Jones. Lance might be ok in a year or two but he’s Jerry’s problem now. We have a super bowl ready roster Dallas doesn’t, despite what Jerry thinks.
We’ll be just fine 😉
I was hoping I could root for Trey if he got moved but man can’t root for the Cowboys under any circumstance.

I hate to be that guy, but some of us told you. All we heard the last two years is how much Jimmy sucks, how “any QB can do what he does,” and how good Trey is going to be.
Well, as fate would have it, Jimmy is STILL a starter in the league (something else some of us tried to tell you) and Lance lost his job to a guy that came within a whisper of being undrafted. Now the best Trey can hope for is being plugged in at center or some dumb shit like that in a last second attempt to avoid losing another playoff game.
Some of us tried to tell you he wasn’t it but you wouldn’t listen.
