  1. Are there many examples of first round QB’s being drafted and just running with it? Joe Burrow is really the only one that comes to mind. For the few other QB’s that were drafted high and started, their rookie season was usually trash and improved season over season. Best QB in the league sat behind Alex Smith for a year.

  2. This is why i was so happy to draft Love. You gave him many years to learn under Rodgers.

  3. It’s really simple for every Joe Burrow who hits the ground running and does ‘ok’ you’ve got a ton of dudes who may have figured it out but they needed a year or two.

    Allen was really Shakey his first few years luckily for him the Bills stuck with him. But you also have guys like Tannehill or Smith who eventually found footing but bounced around before they did or for that matter Stafford or Kurt Warner a litteral HoF QB who’d of never been if Arena didn’t exist for him to develop.

    TLDR: There has always been value in developing QBs with tools who need time to cook just 90% of owners have no patience to do it.
