Also we have 10 NBA players and Nick Kay isn’t one of them for a reason Gorj. He’s a fucking oaf who cost us the game and the start of the 1st and 4th.
The announcers said that Dennis has become the first German to record +25 pts and +6 assistans in national team’s history. What a performance. Late in the game, he turned the ball over twice, which could have been critical, but he played an awesome game.
Schroder wasn’t out of bounds and Giddey was fouled.
We just beat Australis without Franz. Now I’m really believing that we can win a medal in this tournament

Dante having 16 minutes is a travesty. He has been our best player FFS!

Am I missing something? Why is Nick Kay getting so many minutes? He got absolutely cooked on defense in that fourth quarter, gave up four straight iso buckets to start the quarter.
Gorj coached this terribly. Hard to blame the refs when Aussie shot 56% from the line anyway. No idea why Kay played so much if they were going to play a switching defense, Germany’s guards ate him alive.
Patty Mills losing the ball on drives on two crucial possessions was really inexcusable. Can’t have your crunch time PG doing that if you want to go far in the tournament.

So, did the timer’s signal go off before the timeout?

Good intense game. Great defense from both teams. Some strange refereeing decisions both ways at the end there.

Giddey not being allowed to sub in because he was subbed out due to bleeding was a complete joke. Australia should have inbounded the ball, then called a timeout so Giddey could have been subbed in. In FIBA rules you cant be subbed in if the clock hasnt moved.
Also a disastrous result to Finland, we have to beat Germany by 15 to advance. 17th place here we come.

Hopefully the Aussie basketball media will calm down a bit about how good the Boomers are. You don’t win games in FIBA by having more NBA players than the other team.
Oh and Lemanis was a much better Boomers coach than Goorjian.

Just a joy to watch with great plays and back and forth. I know the Aussies are down now but they can beat Slovenia I’m sure. And for us this was a great show that we are on that contender level. Let’s hope Franz comes back and bring it to Finland.
