  13. And Yankees fans were upset that they weren’t going to have an emotional high point to the season like a player setting a record or winning a world series.

  14. It’s amazing what a downhill slide he took after walking off the Red Sox in his first game in pinstripes.

  15. Fully expect him to sign with a team like the Dodgers and to suddenly become a 120 OPS+ hitter once again

  19. I am guessing the timing of this decision is to give him the opportunity to sign a minor league deal with a team before August 31st so that he would be postseason eligible. I have no idea when he will be healthy though. He hasn’t even started a rehab assignment? I wonder what the conversations between his agency and the team have been like leading up to this. Did the team do this as a favor to him or did Donaldson see the writing on the wall and knew the Yankees were not going to activate when he was ready?

  21. Wow CASHFRAUD did something right for once, was worried the corpse of Josh Donaldson was going to come back before the end of the season and take away playing time from the young guys. Also to see if he could hit under .100 for the season.

  25. Can’t wait for the Rays to sign him and him to hit .400 and 8 HR this month for them .
