Mark Schlereth breaks down why Albert O didn’t make the team
There is more to making a football team, then just catching passes. #broncos pic.twitter.com/cIh4huVlFq

The second this, I knew it would be this clip. I didn’t get to see the game and so I checked out the highlights after and naturally, this being a touchdown, was replayed a lot. And all I could focus on was how easily bullied Albert O was by Keir Thomas of all people.
As the top comment to the Tweet says:
> I guess this is why professional football players know wtf they’re talking about.
Nice breakdown. Definitely a bad look
Yeah, it’s not like Hackett benched him all last year out of spite.
I’m still bummed he was waived but it’s pretty hard to defend that.
Honestly, I wasn’t shocked they let him go. One good preseason game against scrubs doesn’t make up for disappearing in games for 3 years.
That’s some rough tape to watch right there. Like zero effort, just walked backward with the guy.
Noah Fant vibes
Not going to lie here, that was horrible effort.. But I’m pretty sure a lot of pass catching TE’s have tape like this.. Just have him chip and run a freaking route to take his man out of the play! Or better yet bring an additional lineman in (instead of ANY TE) on OBVIOUS RUNNING PLAYS! Not that hard, but Mr. Payton aka Mike “Nothing without Elway” version 2 knows more football then I forgot. We will see, maybe he can trade a 3rd to to NBC to get Drew Brees
I now see.
The problem with Albert O is that he has a lot of tape like this. The Eagles have such a good line they don’t really need him to block, so maybe he’ll have some success there. We are not in that situation.
Does Schlereth do any analysis like this about Denver all the time that I can watch?
He’s only ever been good in preseason making drew lock look good against a bunch of 3rd stringers, once the season came around he was barely moving the needle
Schlereth should be coaching
