(Chicago Bears) We have made several roster moves in order to reach the 53-man limit

  1. Sad to see Gipson go I thought he was a roster lock lol but didn’t fit our scheme I guess

  2. Trevis officially released. Doesn’t make much sense to keep Rasheem Green over him imo and I would’ve kept him over DomRob too with how they have looked in the off-season and preseason.

Am glad Terrell Lewis made it

  3. 52 man roster. It’ll be 53 if Dan Feeney passes his physical later today.

Quarterbacks (2): Tyson Bagent, Justin Fields.

Running backs (4): D’Onta Foreman, Khalil Herbert, Travis Homer, Roschon Johnson.

    Fullbacks (1): Khari Blasingame.

Receivers (6): Chase Claypool, Velus Jones Jr., Darnell Mooney, DJ Moore, Equanimeous St. Brown, Tyler Scott.

Tight ends (3): Cole Kmet, Marcedes Lewis, Robert Tonyan.

Offensive linemen (9): Larry Borom, Ja’Tyre Carter, Nate Davis, Teven Jenkins, Braxton Jones, Doug Kramer, Lucas Patrick, Cody Whitehair, Darnell Wright.

Defensive linemen (9): Andrew Billings, Gervon Dexter Sr., Rasheem Green, Justin Jones, Terrell Lewis, Yannick Ngakoue, Zacch Pickens, Dominique Robinson, DeMarcus Walker.

Linebackers (5): Dylan Cole, Tremaine Edmunds, T.J. Edwards, Jack Sanborn, Noah Sewell.

Cornerbacks (6): Josh Blackwell, Kyler Gordon, Jaylon Johnson, Jaylon Jones, Terell Smith, Tyrique Stevenson.

Safeties (4): Jaquan Brisker, Elijah Hicks, Eddie Jackson, A.J. Thomas.

Specialists (3): Trenton Gill, Cairo Santos, Patrick Scales.

  4. Blackwell, Cole, Green, EQSB, Homer/Foreman are probably the first ones out for any waiver claims made. ~~At least one gone to make room for Feeney.~~

    Edit: Feeney is accounted for

  5. So glad to see Vildor’s name on there.

Should’ve cut Carlson on Saturday. 2 horrific drops on 4 targets.

  6. Still lost on the Gipson cut. For a team that lacks pass rush juice, he’s shown some flashes in the past.

Does anybody know if any of these cuts create any significant cap savings?

Edit: Just saw that Gipson & Vildor each will save $2.7m on cap. Same for Mykal Walker.

  7. I strongly oppose cutting Trevis Gipson. I think it’s so stupid. And before you say he asked for a trade, yes, because he was so low on the depth chart for no reason.

  8. REALLY glad Lewis made the roster. Was worried his injury history would keep him off the team.

  9. Jaylon Jones, AJ Thomas, Tyson Bagent, Jack Sanborn. If nothing else, Poles is good at finding gems in UDFAs

  10. Guys that may go on short term IR: Tev, Kramer & Sewell.

Essentially gives Poles room to claim guys tomorrow.

  11. If we put Jenkins and Kramer on IR (they’ll miss the first 4 weeks) but wouldn’t that open up 2 roster spots?

  12. Keeping Velus Jones is negative value. He’ll only harm the team inevitably by being rostered.

  13. For all those shocked about Velus, Poles said last week that he was sticking with him and honestly, don’t put him on punt return and he’s been fine.
