We’re in the dog days of the offseason not much news flying around so just was curious on who you guys prefer listening to.

And note this is NOT a TNT vs ESPN question because I’m sure a majority of us rather have our games be on TNT. This is just between the two best commentators in the game.

I’m a Kevin Harlan guy always have been always will be. His voice couldn’t be any perfect for commentary and his enthusiasm for each game can’t be matched. I also prefer his “GOOOOD” call over Breen’s “BANG”, not to take anything away from Breen though he is awesome.

  1. Harlan, more emphatic, better overall listen imo. But I do love to hear that “BANG!”

  2. Personally I’d say it depends on the stakes of the game. I like to think Breen enjoys doing Knicks games more, and seems much more relaxed with Clyde Frazier. If it’s an ordinary game I pick Mike.

Easily though, if there’s any storyline or intensity tied to a game, including playoffs, give me Kevin.

  3. Breen.

He admitted he totally blew the call at the end of game 1 vs BKN in 2022. He said he lost sleep over it.

    He owes us one.

But don’t get me wrong I LOVE Harlan.

  4. I prefer neither but if I have to pick one it’s Harlan. Breen is highly annoying to me.

  5. Both good. I prefer Breen, but not so much the company he (used to) keep haha. Have ESPN/Breen announced what he is going to do yet?

I believe Dorris and Doc will be announcing together at least

  6. It was a tie for me but now since they’re putting Doris Burke with Breen I gotta go with Harlan. If I never have to listen to Burke finger blast herself talking about Embiid again it’ll be too soon

  7. I’d like to see both together. We’ve seen what happens when two or more color commentators do it with awful results. I’d like to see two competent, polished play-by-play announcers just give a relatively straightforward broadcast.

  8. Harlan he has far more calls where he injects his energy. It’s not just limited to a few catchphrases. I like Breen, but Harlan is just able to keep his consistency throughout a call.

  9. Harlan is a GOAT announcer across multiple sports. He is the best basketball announcer we currently have and I will always prefer him.

Breen is great too, but I wonder if I would view him differently if they hadn’t saddled him with the two stooges Van Gundy and Jackson for so long. I associate him with those clowns and their slapstick bullshit, and although he has some legendary calls in big moments, I don’t enjoy his games a lot of times because I have to listen to the other two.

  10. I think Breen is the best in the biz. Harlan is also very good so I’d say Breen but really either one.

  11. Mike Been is great, but I gotta go with Kevin Harlan, his voice is very unique to me. Not only am I more of a NBA on TNT guy, but I love how genuine he sounds /freaks out over a 20+ point comeback, a dunk, etc. Idk that’s how I am while watching games and how most of us react.

  12. Harlan. Enjoy the games being on TNT way more than the coverage we have to listen to when they’re on ABC And ESPN

  13. Breen all day. Harlan has a great voice and some killer lines in big moments, but his actual play-by-play kinda stinka in my opinion.

  14. Every announcer is the exact same minus Doris Burke and Mark Jackson. These two make the product significantly worse. Everyone else is just there, not really helping or hurting it.

the hornets have the best people in the business. Eric Collins GOATED. thats a fact

  15. Who was the one that said one of Tatum’s layups was “Geometrically impossible” in the Heat series?

That guy, I like that guy.
