Hernandez seems like a great guy, imo he deserves to be granted the pleasure of an early retirement and relieved of this burden of being an umpire.

My expectations for his umpiring skills are incredibly low, yet he managed to finish the game 4.4% below expectations.
I don’t understand why Ángel has never umped a World Series or been promoted to crew chief. It must be because his last name is Hernández.
He created 0.85 runs for Colorado. This is despite the Jansen situation. Truly a master at his craft. If only racism didn’t kill his career… 😔

He actually had fewer missed calls than I expected, but there should be some kind of added bonus or metric for “egregious misses” like the “ball” labeled in 1 or that strike that he called on Belt
those called balls in the upper strike zone are absolutely ridiculous, it’s right at your fucking eye level as an ump, inexcusable
I honestly think the umps are trolling MLB at this point, daring them to try to do something about their incompetence.
