Interesting point: Jared Goff included Vaitai as part of the starting OL in his press conference. At 8:25 he refers to returning for another season with “the front 5”, meaning Glasgow would not be included.

  1. They were splitting snaps pretty evenly during camp with the 1st team, but Goff seems to think Vaitai will start at RG in Week 1. If he’s healthy, that’s probably the right move.

  2. I thought this was the plan already. Vaitai knows the system better, has outstanding chemistry with Sewell, and likely will be retiring or moving on after this season anyways.

  3. From what I read, Glasgow was actually very good and some beat reporters said he played better in the preseason than Vaitai. Jeff Risdon said even though Glasgow looked better, Sewell has great chemistry with Vaitai and is noticeably better with Vaitai.

  4. It’s funny because that front 5 (Decker, Jackson, Ragnow, Big V, Sewell) has never played a snap together

*why would I get downvoted. That unit has literally not played an NFL snap together. In 2021 Decker missed the start of the season with the hand the injury, he returned but before he did Big V got hurt (basically gone the last year and a half). Ragnow also missed games. Those 5 have never been in the lineup together in the last two years
