[Matheson] John Schneider spoke with Vladdy after he watched that long ball off the wall: “We joked that the baseball gods allowed him to get to second on the bobble, but we hashed it out and it’s all good.”

  1. This isn’t the first time he’s done it. Pretty sure they had the same conversation, on the same play last year.

  2. He can have that conversation 1000 times he’ll never learn. Even when surrounded by blue collar guys it doesn’t work.

  3. Vladdy needed to get chewed out on that play by an old school manager. I’m not a boomer but u should never pimp every home run and just hustle.

  4. [John Schneider said he spoke with Vlad Guerrero Jr. about the play where he didn’t hustle out of the box. Said all is good between them. Said he didn’t see a lack of urgency from Vlad today.](https://twitter.com/bnicholsonsmith/status/1698483059635400708?t=zVJiaeM6bBXGCzMJI8EKXQ&s=19)

I think the last line from Ben is important. I posted it yesterday (and got downvoted) and Ill reiterate it: I honestly believe a lot of the comments about the team not playing to potential and making sure they keep in mind the small things have been indirectly about (but not limited to) Vladdy.

  5. I’m not an “unwritten rules” proponent by any means, but I didn’t even like that he pimped the one that was actually a home run. Hit some dingers in big spots and then we’ll talk.

  6. Maybe Vlad needs glasses. Misjudging his hits thinking its gone, when it’s not? Could be why he’s missing meatballs and gidp’s
