  5. Ive been a rendon supporter and tried not to flame him. But holy fuck dude. I really looks like he is just here for the paycheck. Like how hard is it to answer a couple of questions. Seems like he might be faking it.

    I hope he’s not giving the same answers to the front office because if he is they should put him on the same list that they put Stassi on.

  17. I could forgive the attitude if he was an actual difference maker on the field, putting up consistent 5+ WAR seasons, and living up to the value of his contract. I might even find it endearing.

    I could forgive the benchwarming if he had a personality like Brett Phillips or even Mike Trout – always taking time for the fans and being a positive presence in the clubhouse. I’d chalk the injuries up to bad luck and wish the best for him in future seasons.

    But here he is, robbing the team blind while being a snarky little shit. There is not one redeeming quality to his presence on the Angels.

  21. I always thought Rendon was a laid back kinda guy. Sometimes a little too laid back. But this response is really immature and not in the best interest of Mexican Americans. Gify (Venezuela) hasn’t gotten many post game questions from Erica but when he has he answered in English. He could have gotten an interpreter but preferred to give it a go and he did well. Rendon acting clownish with his reply kinda disrespects players that do prefer or need an interpreter. If Rendon thought this was a cutesy or funny answer it wasn’t. At least not to me.

  32. I’m going to offer a contrarian opinion here:

    This doesn’t really matter much.

    I see a guy who knows he’s been injured more often than healthy, which is a new thing for him. He was always in the lineup for the Nationals.

    He knows he isn’t playing and is probably frustrated that reporters keep wanting him to say “no I’m not playing.”

    This season is over. He will have a full 7 months to get healthy for next year.

    Let’s just hope he can turn it around. I’d rather have him than his replacements in the lineup.

  33. As an outsider, the Angels need to do a complete tear down. Trade Trout, cut Rendon, stop signing high priced free agents for now and start concentrating on building a real farm system.

    Rendon is a non-issue right now unless he gets let go. Who cares?
