Overall, I am not scared of ANY team in the AFC North currently… That said, as much as it pains me to say this: The steelers might have the best roster of all 3 of our rivals currently. & NO, I don’t think ANY of their rosters stack up when compared to the 2023 Cleveland Browns Roster.
Obviously the Bengals:
Have Burrow & Chase, which is nothing to sneeze at. They’ve improved their offensive line… Tyler Boyd & Tee Higgins are solid, but past that? Joe Mixon is NOT good IMO, and I’m not losing ANY sleep over Irv Smith Jr…
Defensively, they are good, but lost both starting safties to free agency, and past DJ Reader, Trey Hendrickson, & Germaine Pratt, who are great, I’m not losing much sleep over the rest of their defensive unit, specifically their secondary. This team is likely to be in shootouts and they have at best a MID tier secondary.
Obviously until Joe Burrow retires, the Bengals are going to be an issue, but rosterwise… The Cleveland Browns are significantly better.
As far as the Steelers go:
Their Quarterback, offensive line and linebackers (TJ is an EDGE rusher) are weaker than advertised, and their secondary is Minkah who’sobviouslygreat, a rookie JPo jr, who’s likely to be good and 137 year old Patrick Peterson who somehow had a greatseasonin 22’… Heyward is still a beast but he’s 34½ years old!
This new *steel curtain* isn’t exactly the force they’re cracked up to be, but they’ve been drafting well.
Keeanu Benton, DeMarvin Leal, & Joey Porter jr are all untested, but they are all likely to be good and be problems for the foreseeable future.
Which brings me to my next point: Pickens is really good… Allen Robinson *used* to be damn good & is only 30, Pat Freiermuth is young & good, Najee Harris murdered us last year (steelersfanshatehim), and they get back Calvin Austin III who is basically a pinball after a redshirt rookie year. Not overly scared of Dionte Johnson, but it’s likely a solid group with Pickens being the main problem… I’m concerned about Darnell Washington Height: 6’7″ Weight: 264 lbs… This kid is a monster and there’s basically NO way JOK is capable of tackling him without heading directly to the ICU

If you aren’t at least concerned about them you have some insanity issues at the very least lol you don’t have to fear them like it was 10+ years ago but there should always be a level of concern with them because they are the Steelers

No. The media is just obsessed with trying to make them a thing.
TJ Watt stays healthy all last season they make the playoffs.
They have an unproven QB, a middling RB, and an offensive line that has been rebuilt two years in a row. They have quality WRs and a great pass rushing defense but can be scored on. Teams with balanced offenses and good pass defenses can take control of games from them.
It’s the preseason so everyone can be good. But there’s very little that would indicate the Steelers upside is more than an average team. Tomlin can string together wins with an average team against other average or bad teams but can’t elevate them in meaningful games. Which is why he’s never had a losing record but hasn’t won a playoff game since 2017.
The Bengals have a much better team top to bottom. To the point they can just outscore anybody. The Ravens have a rushing game that will catch pass focused defenses by surprise. The Steelers don’t have anything to sleep on because almost every team is built to beat them.
