Keep former Bills guard Rodger Saffold in your thoughts.

Former Bills guard Rodger Saffold recently tweeted that he is coming to see his sister (who passed in 2020) and that CTE is very much a real thing. CTE is commonly linked to thoughts of suicide. Remember that football players are real people too, and you should treat them as such.

  1. It’s times like this that I wish social media wasn’t so shit to professional athletes so the man could read about how much love he has in the world. CTE is no fuckin joke and they need kindness just like the rest of us. Open arms to him and whoever needs them.

  2. man that‘s sad. Even if he was the best or worst player on the field, he deserves to be happy and healthy. I really hope he gets help if he feels like he needs it.

  3. Damn, that sucks. Wish he hadn’t been such a liability for us that we cast him aside after one year, but that has nothing to do with his wellbeing here.

  4. Surprisingly, the comments on his Xwitter posts were an outpouring of care and concern. I do hope that he saw that, but also that people that actually know him reached out to him in person.

  5. I had an ex who posted something like that once and the cops & EMTs were at her place within an hour. This guy’s got 1000x the followers so hopefully someone arranged at least a welfare check for him..
