  1. Yeah, this was posted on r/nfl and everyone was calling it bullshit. It’s completely ridiculous that he’s below rookies who have never played and below a guy who is retired. The whole list is garbage.

  2. Is it wrong? Yes.

    Does it matter? No.

These rankings have no influence on the games. They’re not worth your time.

  3. none of these “analysts” know more than the actual fans. they half ass info on 32 teams but the niner fans are the experts on the niners. we know brock is the GOAT i just cant wait to prove these dipshits on ESPN and NFL network wrong.

  4. All good. Idc what journalists rank him. All i care about is he brings the same skillsets he brought last year and he can be ranked worst in the world for all i care.

  5. Steven Ruiz doing Steven Ruiz stuff. Gonna be rough for him when farming for engagement once Twitter dies.

  6. Purdy will have a lot to prove this year, including the ability to last a season without major injury, as well as succeeding against teams that are now scheming against his tendencies. He won’t be taking teams by surprise this season.

I’m hoping for the best. But he’s going to have to earn it.

  7. Ruiz is a throwback analyst to a time when sports journalism was pretty useless. He forms a narrative and scouting report on guys and sticks to his priors forever. Then he sprinkles in advanced stats to validate his argument while ignoring any stats that might dispute it. He has Josh Dobbs 1 point away from Purdy for his “score”. He’s Mel Kiper the football analyst. If you listen to him on any Ringer podcasts he knows his scores are subjective horsehit

  8. Purdy out-plays the entire NFL for almost half a season: 32 of 34

Yeah…. these dudes don’t know what they’re talking about.

  9. I think the only way they come up with this ranking is if they count the games he didn’t even suit up against him. Because he literally had the best stats of all QBs from the Miami game onwards.

  10. In the NFL you have to be good and then come back the next year and be good again. If he is 90% of what he was last season then he is a top 12-15 QB. If he makes a sophomore jump then he is a top 6-8 ish QB.

The chart is silly. Specifically his creativity is actually way higher. I would say it’s nearly as good as anybody in the league. I could argue that everything but his arm talent is too low based on last season and his college tape.

  11. nah yeah he should be above any qb just entering the league. but who gives a crap. those list are just a cesspool for engagement. f ck it. time to get ready for the games.

  12. Good, our players use these clickbait’s as fuel in season. Go ahead and doubt our boys the whole year.

  13. Who gives a fuck honestly? Purdy is a 10-15 QB right now pretty easily, rankings like this don’t have any real meaning other than to get clicks

Scroll past it, it’s just noise

  14. I love the Ringer to just hear about sports and movies but their takes on west coast teams and especially us are just blatantly off. They also talk about us for these super generic and brief periods of time while they can go all day long on a bunch of mediocre east coast squads…maybe I’m crazy but this is the best team we’ve had in idk how long, Vegas as well seems to think so

  15. Where do Geno and Dak rank? I have a memory of Brock outplaying both of them, but what do I know?

  16. The only thing Ruiz hates more than Brock Purdy is admitting that he’s wrong. He’s banking on Purdy struggling in the first few games after elbow surgery to cling to his tightly held belief that he couldn’t have been so far off in the draft, during the season, and during the playoffs. He refuses to give Brock any credit

  17. I hope Purdy hears about this. He probably doesn’t need motivation but every little bit helps!

  18. Good, I like that the media is under estimating Brock Star that just means when we win the Super Bowl its gonna be that much sweeter

  19. It’s insane to put any rookie above someone with game experience. Even Jordan Love, who has exactly one NFL start, should not be rated above someone who has five regular season starts and three postseason starts. Insane.
