[Zwelling] Matt Chapman (finger) is still waiting for swelling and inflammation to subside before he can ramp up baseball activity. He’s limited to taking groundballs for now — no throwing. Hasn’t swung a bat since he hit IL. He’ll be reevaluated in Toronto on Friday.

  1. I’m at the point where I think we’re gonna offer Chapman the qualifying offer and he is going to take it to try to regain some of his value in the off-season. This is becoming more and more of a reality.

  2. Love the glove.

But, to be fair he hasn’t swung the bat since spring. Still, would like to see him back next year.

  3. I don’t want this himbo back. What an idiot. It’s obvious he cares more about looking good naked than winning ball games.

  4. His bat isn’t an upgrade over anyone really. Guy is useless in producing runs other than in April.

  5. If Davis keeps swinging the bat then I’m fine if he doesn’t come back. It avoids the issue of having to bench Davis for half of the games because Schnieder has shown he won’t bench his vets.

Before anyone says Davis isn’t sustainable then yes obviously he can’t keep doing this but he has an acceptable strike out rate and a fantastic walk rate so I don’t think he’ll crater even when his BABIP comes down.
