What are your expectations for the New Orleans Saints in the 2023/2024 Season?

Hello Saints fans!

I’m a huge sports and statistics fan so I was interested in starting a project where I could keep track of all fans’ perceptions of their team as the season progresses!

With the start of the season this week I would be delighted to see what the hopes of the different fan bases are at this current moment!

Now I know many things can influence a team’s success which is why I want to collect this information during these pivotal moments of the season.

\-The Start of the Season (this Poll)

\-After the Trade Deadline (October 31)

\- At the start of the playoffs (Before January 13 where hopefully your team will be at the end of this season!)

This way we can compare how the front office’s decisions affect the hopes of fan bases as well as player development and injuries.

It will also be fun to see what teams are most hopeful, most accurate, or what teams will be the most shattered by the surprises which sports has in store for us.

I will be gathering up these results in this google sheet so feel free to check it out for yourself if you want to see the results from other fanbases for yourself![ ](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EdV1_5lSgeop_yz5F55NO7LQIbXZRomIsPD8XvAH0QA/edit?usp=sharing)

If you have any questions or suggestions for this project I hope you let me know and I’m looking forward to seeing a nice civil debate in the comments below šŸ˜‰

Thank you guys for your participation and best of luck to your team and let’s hope for a low injury season for all!

  1. NFC is weak, Eagles are going to fall off after the Super Bowl loss just like the Falcons did. Packers and Niners took huge steps backwards, Seahawks are meh and will probably end up playing 3-4 different QBā€™s. I think we got this.

  2. Win a wild card game. Lose to the Vikings on the road again in the divisional round. Justin Jefferson beats the best CB in our league Lattimore on the last play of overtime

  3. I think that the there is a great opportunity in the NFC. However, I think our coaches are incapable producing an offense capable of winning championships. With that being said, I think thereā€™s a possibility with Carrā€™s leadership that we are able to find some ground between coaching and offensive play calling. If this happens, I think that this team has the tools to push to the SuperBowl. We are probably the 3rd best roster ā€œon paperā€ in the entire NFC.

  4. Iā€™m thinking we make the NFC championship game. Iā€™m hoping super bowl but NFC championship game seems like it will happen

  5. I voted for playoffs. We could win the division at 8-9 if it came to it. Iā€™m not sure we are better than any NFC West team outside of LA, and NFC East outside of the Commanders. Chances are we play one of those teams in the first round and donā€™t advance, but I would be happy to be proven wrong about that.

  6. If everything breaks right and everyone stays reasonably healthy, we win 12-13 games and make some hay in the playoffs. If things go horribly wrong, we lose in the double digits and get to blow a high draft pick next April. Luckily, the vibe is much more the former than the latter. Who dat!

  7. Expectations? Make the playoffs with a winning record. Hopes and possibilities? Super Bowl contenders.

  8. If Carr can do what Stafford did for the rams that first season, no crazy injuries, and no lazy coaching then itā€™s Super Bowl or bust

  9. In the playoffs. I have been a cap cynic but we have 4 legitimate leaders on D in Cam, Demario, Shon and Honey Badger.

I think DA is growing into being a HC but have doubts Sneaky Pete was little more than Sean and Drewā€™s likeable friend.

Derek Carr is a worry to me. I donā€™t think he is terrible but if we had a QB of stature like the Brady which joined Tampa or the version of Rodgers which joined the Jets, I think I would believe a bit more.

We are still one of the better teams in the league at finding free agent fits or gems in later rounds of drafts or UDFAs. So, if players who fit that criteria, such as Howden, Saunders, Sheperd, Shaheed do well to bill out roster will be ok.

If MT stays healthy I think we can be top 10 offense if Pete improves play calling. The D should be good but in dream world Dennis would be still Co-ordinator and we had some offensive Merlin like Ben Johnson in the SP role.

Iā€™ll say 9-8 with us playing better in winter with the chance of winning in the playoffs. Life was not meant to be easy after HOF QB and HC leave so that is why I was never against a full rebuild and starting afresh with a young QB. But I admire Loomisā€™ desire to be competitive always.

  10. It’s so hard to say without seeing Carr play a game or two. We’re anywhere from a 7 win team to a 12 win team depending almost entirely on how he plays. But the NFC is weak in general and the NFCS is its weakest division, so the playoffs are certainly on the table if we’re even average and then it’s just a matter of seeing how fortune favors us in the big tournament.

  11. I think the NFC South is the Saintā€™s to lose. Anything less than a division title would be underperforming. How they stack with the rest of the NFC, I have no idea.
