RIP to all the “Buehler is going to come back and pitch us to the title this year because I don’t know how sports injuries work!” crowd
I really wanted to see Buehler in the postseason, but this is the right decision. You just don’t want to push him, and in the postseason, that would be impossible. Everyone is pushed to their limits in those games.
The right move. Don’t rush him back, try to make sure he’s as strong and recovered as possible for next year’s run.
People here actually thought he was going to START playoff games…
all of the sudden dodgers are starting Kershaw Miller Pepiot and Lynn and there’s no avoiding it… Praying for a Stone or Sheehan game 4
For the best.
While I don’t think he’ll get back to Cy Young contender level, hitting 96.1 and sitting 94.5 on his FF in his first rehab appearance suggests that with an offseason of more rehab and building up he can get back to sit 94-95/hit 96-97. Combine that with his secondary stuff and he can 100% be an effective starter alongside Bobby, Ryan, and Emmet. I think those 4 plus one of Nola and Burnes (and Kershaw if he wants to come back but given his shoulder I kind of doubt it) gives us the best core 5 for next season, with May contributing as much as he can whenever he can. Maybe split the #2 slot for the whole season between Walker and Dustin to keep their IP low?
Our Savior is gone!
Playoff rotation being held together by duct tape
It’s the right move but I was hoping he was back this season
Thank you, Captain obvious. This was well known before the season even started.
Don’t call it x to make muskrat happy. It’s Twitter
I agree with shutting down hopes for him this season. The pitching situation has been rough all year. I know the playoffs are coming, but it’s better to ride with the B squad and take what comes than push him out before he is ready and have him go down for an extended period again. We already had May and Gonsolin go down again shortly after returning.
Ring is fucked.
Dodgers listened to me. A Black Belt Shotokan fighter about conditioning, stretching and staying fit to perform year round! Nobody should be getting hurt in Spring Training( Lux…others) off season is so important that first game spring training you perform same lvl as season. Finally did something right. You blew it w Bellinger. Screwed up his swing.
I wonder after the OKC game he had arm issues? Agree with the move, no need to rush him.
