  10. Three years ago, Brandon Staley was brought in mainly to improve the defense. He has not done that, in fact, I’d argue it’s worse than when he got here. 34 points should win a game

    There exists not a single excuse in this world. This was the healthiest your defense was going to be minus Daiyan. And they let this team kill them. They let the offense down. I really do not care if it’s week 1, this was inexcusable. First the 27-0 choke, now this… Staley’s scheme and gameplan was attrocious. I would have preferred a 34-10 blowout.

    Staley, your weak, soft ass is on the hot seat. Be-fucking-lieve that. You hire a new OC, he comes through for you with 200+ yards on the ground, and your defense, that you’ve worked on for 3 full offseasons, does not show up. Inexcusable.

  38. Same old chargers, in the history of this team, they have never been able to get out of their own way. Nothing will change, not with Spanos at the helm. Telesco will still be here and somehow get to hire his 4th head coach and the cycle will repeat itself.

    On a positive note: the offense looks great especially the run game. I have a feeling Kellen Moore will try to mix it up next game, but the run game looks magnificent.

    Score 34 points, which should be more than enough to win any game, win the turnover battle 2-0, a home game that you have the whole off-season to gameplan for, and that’s what our “Defensive Guru” HC vomits up?

    Why is Kenneth Murray on the field for a 4th & 7? Why is the Chargers D perpetually incapable of getting off the field on 3rd & long? How can you watch Tyreek Hill burn every single DB in single coverage and not conclude that you need to bracket or double him regardless of who else that frees up?

    The Offense played as close to a perfect game as you can realistically expect. We ran the ball at will all day long, didn’t turn it over, scored 34 points. If there is any criticism it’s not scoring a TD on that 2nd to last drive, and perhaps that there was no need to totally abandon the run on the final drive, but compared to the D the O was practically flawless.

    D produced one Defensive stop the entire game, and benefitted from two completely gifted Turnovers.

    The infuriating thing is this is exactly what we’ve been watching since week 1 of 2021. Plenty enough O to win most games, and utterly inept D one week to the next. It’s not because Staley doesn’t have the players he wants, or a lack of Draft picks, or Injuries. His scheming, planning, and adjustments are complete and utter garbage. He’s a total fraud, and we are wasting another year of Herbert.
