I don’t think it’s an overreaction to say that these two need to go.

Outplayed, out-schemed, and out-play-called on both sides of the ball today.

Defense made no adjustments and ran the same, outdated, base cover two defense for 90% of the game.

We keep hearing how complicated Getsy’s offense is, and how long it takes to learn, but it never leads to anything positive on the field. Predictable play-calling, obsession with screen passes, and terribly schemed routes. Getsy is doing nothing to scheme our playmakers open.

I know it’s game one, but it’s not game one in either of the offensive and defensive schemes. We have talent on both sides of the ball, but our play calling is not putting our team in positions to win.

  1. Play calling was so pathetic today!
You have DJ Moore and you just keep calling run run and run on your offense

  2. Our owners hire soft people who scout, draft and coach soft players. McCaskeys are the core problem with this franchise.

  3. It starts with the FO. How many times do they need to show you they’re okay with losing to the packers

  4. We used the #1 overall pick in the draft to get DJ Moore and targeted him 2x. How does that happen? HOW DOES TAHT HAPPEN?!?!?!?

  5. Their first drive with six months to prepare was two screen passes, a TE sneak, and a QB sneak. They were not prepared.

  6. Getsy was a product of Aaron Rodgers running the GB offense.he is fucking terrible.

The defense unfortunately wont change til Flus is gone. Fire him first.

  7. Bears don’t need a new stadium, just get rid if the team completely, no one will miss them. We are tired of the constant disappointment

  8. Thanks for calling it out. Hurts but true. Listening to Alex Brown in postgame..team is a joke.. again. =[

  9. 2 targets to our pseudo “1st round pick”. Justin running for his life as usual. Down 24 points and we do a designed QB run. Check down. Screen. Run up the middle.

    What the actual FTP.

  10. We just faced a rookie QB and perhaps, with Watson out, the worst WR group we will face all season

Our answer was 0 blitzes while our dline had 0 succes rushing the passer. And we played zone so these young unproven WR´s just got to run around for free

Unacceptable. This was an easy matchup for our defence and we gave up 31 points. Hot seat already and it shouldnt take much more

  11. Run run pass to set up the play action?

Justin fields existing is the play action. Fucking idiotic.

Zone all game letting the worst quarterback ive ever seen throw for free? Fucking idiotic.

  12. We didnt throw a pass more than 20 yards possibly 15 all game and gave up 86 yds and 2 tds RECEIVINg to Aaron jones so yes I agree

  13. As an OSU fan, I don’t get the obsession with some coaches on the screen pass. It can be blown up for disaster and has very little chance of being great.

  14. Every play, Fields either stands still behind a collapsing pocket until the last second, hands the ball off, throws a screen with Claypool’s lazy ass as the lead blocker or does an under center play action rollout that the defense sees coming.

This is exactly why the offense looked so shit to begin the season last year, and our offense picked things up around Week 4 when we started getting Fields moving, making him a threat to run the ball on RPOs and calling designed power runs.

Did they just completely forget what was working for them the latter half of last season? Why does this look like the same offense from Weeks 1-3? Gross incompetence.

  15. Defense got beat by screen passes from the first quarter to the last.

You’d think SOMEONE would recognize it and defend something. But no it was guaranteed 8+ yards every time

  16. I don’t understand why Poles hired Eberflus in the first place. All the good teams have an offensive minded head coach, that’s how the NFL is going. Why do we stay stuck in the past at every opportunity?

  17. As everyone searches for answers it really ends up being what it always is with the Bears…*everything is bad*.

Justin Fields is not developing and he would have by now. He can’t process quick enough to be successful at the NFL level.

Luke Getsy is not a good OC. His offenses are overcomplicated and his play-calling lacks any creativity.

Alan Williams is not a good DC. His defenses are archaic and oversimplified and his play-calling lacks any creativity.

Eberflus is not a good HC. His HITS gimmick and old-school approach are not inspiring and a recipe for a quick mutiny.

Ryan Poles is not a good GM. Poles is showing serious chinks in his armor, failing to capitalize on available quality interior line talent in the draft and free agency, and passing on blue chip DL prospects in the draft for a RT and 2nd tier D-line and Secondary prospects. Plus, he hired this poor coaching staff and is building a rickety house of cards around a QB that is severely limited in his abilities in the NFL passing game.

The McCaskeys are poor owners. Since Papa Bear Halas let go of the reins and the 85 Bears, the family has managed this historic franchise into the ground. Please sell ASAP!

TL;DR: Who’s fault is it? Everyones! They all need to go!!

  18. Sigh! Same old Bears. Screen passes, predictable play calling, no time to throw or let plays develop down field. Oh, and yet another loss to the Packers.

  19. I’m willing to give Williams SOME benefit of the doubt since so much of the defense didn’t play in the preseason. Brisker, Edmunds, half the Dline, Jackson. They all barely played. This was the first game action t hey saw together.

Getsy has ZERO excuses though. All this talk about how in sync Fields and Moore were. And he gets targeted TWO FUCKING TIMES.

The one target was a slant that was executed. And they never tried it again.

All this talk about two tight ends sets. We go bring in a good guy like Tonyan. ZERO FUCKING TARGETS.

However…our running backs were targeted FIFTEEN TIMES. Compared to our receivers who had 13 targets.

Getsy was the #1 reason we lost today.

Anyone begging for Caleb Williams is off their rocker if he was stuck with Getsy and this O-line

  20. Nothing will get better until the Bears have competent owners. It starts at the top and the McCaskey’s have been asleep at the wheel since forever. If you keep hiring bozos at GM and Coach, what makes you think the same people doing those hires will get it right the next time?

  21. Everything goes back to the McCaskeys. They let Ryan Pace draft another class, despite showing that he could not assess talent. Pace, motivated by trying to save his job, crippled the team by trading more draft capital for a second shitty QB. I was willing to give Poles the benefit of the doubt, but the second he decided there wasn’t a better QB in the 2023 draft, Fields became his problem. Now, the writing is on the wall; the McCaskeys are going to let Poles draft his own QB, he’ll get it wrong, and we’ll have suffered through another 5-6 years of this horse shit franchise spinning their wheels in the mud.

  22. Play calling today was absolute trash it all started with going for it on are first drive set the tone for the rest of the day. I wish I could wipe my memory today sucked

  23. I may be proven wrong, but I don’t think Green Bay is all the good either. It’s not like we got beat by the best team in the league. Their offensive and defensive lines are good, but Love had all day to throw and often his passes were behind his receivers. Sadly I think Rodgers would have hung 70 points on us. We got our coached and out hustled. I haven’t been this disappointed in a game since Parker’s field goal.

  24. the reason dj moore only had 2 targets is simple. poor planning, and most importantly the Justin Fields isn’t the answer. he hasn’t improved. still making the same mistakes.

  25. First time I’ve ever walked out of Soldier Field before the game ended. I couldn’t stomach it. I’ll have to try and bring myself to watch the recording to be sure, but it sure seems like the blame falls on the play calls and overall game plan. It’s unnerving how little faith they showed in Fields today. It’s almost as if they announced to the league that he’s not the guy. That was a Kyle Orton playbook. Our offensive line looked like ass too though, so maybe we decided immediately that there’s no point in even attempting to go downfield. Either way, it was brutal.

  26. Clueless bunch. DJ Moore going to waste away. Mushin Muhammad said it best…Chicago is “where wide receivers go to die.”

  27. He did this with Claypool, now he’s done it with Moore. I don’t think Ryan Poles is that incompetent in getting this team receivers, so is it Getsy scheming a bullshit game or is it Fields not hitting receivers. Screens pretty obviously are a playcall, how do you not get tf rid of this guy?

  28. Them running the ball late in the third down by 18 pretty much tells you all you need to know about what they think of fields. This should just be another tank year to get Caleb Williams. They have four pretty solid past catchers, and if they can’t throw the ball down by three scores, then it’s time to move on
