This means literal nothing. Astros don’t really do talks during the season.
He will be an Astro for life.. nothing to see here…
He doesn’t need to have them. He is an Astro for as long as he wants to be.
What a non-story. There’s playoffs and a whole other season before contract negotiations need to start.

Obviously his value goes up if we go back to back and he continues to have insane numbers. Obviously the org knows he has an insane fanbase here who would be PISSED if he was gone….
Im worried about a lot of other players before i’m worried about Altuve.
I’d be more worried about Bregman leaving than Altuve, especially with Dana planning to lock Tucker up for life.
Altuve is here for life, period. Bregman I could see leaving
I’d laugh so hard if he went to the Yankees, then cry for the rest of my life.
I will not forgive the Astros if they let Bregman or Altuve walk…

Brown also contacted agent Scott Boras about new deals for second baseman Jose Altuve and third baseman Alex Bregman. Both are signed through 2024.
“These guys should retire here,” Brown said he told Boras. “They should be in Houston for life, man.”
