  1. This was it!? This is what made Paul say what he said.

I really didn’t think his TNT job should be at risk, but now I do

  2. >confirming with a member of the team

    >posts evidence not from a member of the team

This story could 100% be real and the chiclets guys would still look like morons for how it’s being reported / “substantiated”

All we know is he looked at player photos on a screen. Still zero actual reports from a current player that it was forced/weird/uncomfortable.

  3. Imagine building rapport with the new team you’ve been hired to coach for by asking about family/vacations. Ya know on the very plausible chance you meet their significant other and be able to recognize them.

  4. I mean the whole way he worded it is just weird. “You have to sneak it into your pod” basically saying I need you to bring this up so that I can get as many views as I can. Sad the way that people try to control narratives that can ruin people’s lives nowadays. I’m glad that everyone seems to be coming out saying this is all blasphemy.

  5. Proceeds to not show any new evidence; and of course Commodore’s video is more of the same, reiterating the shit they’ve already said but NOW implying that Adam Fantilli was on the receiving end as well.

You’ve got to hand it to them, the excuses are built in: “Of course the players would deny it, they’re too afraid to speak up!” “Of course Jenner denies it, he has to lead be example!” and inevitably, “Of course Fantilli denies it, he doesn’t want to be glued to the bench.”

These guys are some of the most despicable clowns

  6. Dude is in love with Toronto and clearly upset with what went down between Babcock and the maple leafs. Commodore is a washed up has been clinging to relevancy.

I actually like what biz brings to tnt playoff coverage, but this is such a bad look. It’s like he’s some bitter ex girlfriend

  7. Biz is the one who needs a transplant.

Looks like you guys have been sucked into ‘Leafs media’ orbit… I want to see more coverage of your team, but not like this.

Hopefully it doesn’t go on like this, and the team and Babcock can prove their detractors wrong!

  8. Babs is bad news. Hell, he hasn’t been good news in a decade. He was the highest paid coach in the league when hired in May 2015, and the Leafs fired him THREE AND A HALF YEARS before his contract was up. How much did they pay? Over $20,000,000. Team President Brendan Shanahan flew three time-zones to fire him mid-road trip. Twenty million dollars and a red-eye flight across North America to get him away from their team. The story given was that he’d had a 5-game losing streak. He was 173-133-45 with them, logged multiple 100+ point seasons, managed to take them on a streak of Playoffs appearances—and it was still worth it to them to send him packing with $20 million bucks tucked in his breast pocket.

Regardless of this cell phone story, Babcock is bad juju. JD and Jarmo may have made their worst decision in all the years I’ve been a fan.

  9. I’m gunna take a stab at speculating what might have happened or be happening: Babcock is evaluating and getting to know his team as players and as people; key word, evaluating. He has one-on-ones with them and the topic of what they do and their lives outside of hockey. In Bab’s mind, “how to you really see the character of a man where they can’t fake it? Their camera roll!”. Now, is his logic completely broken? Can’t say 100%. You could do the same to me and see pics of my family, cats, concert videos and the occasional edgy meme, which is decently spot on. The big piece of this situation is that it depends on the age of the player. For older players and family men like Boone, Johnny, and Damon, get ready to see wedding, children, dogs and vacation. Players from 18-26 years old, they may not be as confident and welcoming to their boss snooping their pics, regardless of what’s in it.

Long story short, is this blown out of proportion? Ya. Did he cross a line with his players? Probably depends on who you ask. Is this a miscalculation on Babcock? Ya, overall flawed approach to whatever he’s trying to accomplish.

  10. I’m really bothered by the “Babs is a pervert” narrative that Commodore is trying to put out there. The comments are starting to take a darker turn to something that the Jackets actually should probably take legal action – Commodore didn’t get the response he wanted so it seems he’s trying to push it further.
