  1. 100% agree. He’s letting the ball travel too much.

The bat is still traveling downward when it makes contact with the ball. That’s why he pounds everything into the ground.

  2. Why would anyone add overly dramatic music to this?

I want to hear Buck’s analysis, it ain’t the damn Avengers, ha ha

  3. *stupid music warning

To me it looks like his step is a little disconnected from the swing, like there’s a step and a pause on the swing. Not a nice fluid movement.

  4. It’s an interesting idea. For sure it’s partially true, but on the pop out he reached but was also way out in front. He’s late because his timing is way off, and he’s caught between letting the ball travel, and guessing wrong.

  5. I remember reading a few times on here earlier in the season the rumors around the clubhouse were that Vlad has a circle of people he trusts very deeply and won’t really listen to other people.

Obviously, this is complete speculation, but it does make sense as to why he is so reluctant to change his approach.

No matter whether it’s true or not, it does seem clear that he needs to be working on his game with different people. Hope he gets what he needs this offseason.

  6. Don’t worry. I’m sure Guillermo Martinez has seen this and Googled “hitting” and will have Vlad back to top performance in no time.

  7. There is the theory that his wrist injury in May may be a hidden injury. Nope. I don’t believe it. He’s doing everything that Buck and Jeff and Kevin and Joe and everyone else who has seen him swing. Pitchers know, to pitch that low and outside and he’s on it every time.

  8. This is very true, but in that same game, dude flailed at 3 sliders that were waaaaaayyyyyy out of the zone. So there’s also that
