[MattyFBrown] After tape review. The #Seahawks threw a lot of stuff out there on passing third downs. Man. Zone. Pressures. Exotic. Just none of it really worked. I’d point to all of this being rather obvious from pre-snap coverage perspective. Maybe: do less; disguise more moving forward

My charting of the 13 #Seahawks 3rd and 4+ calls:
12x 236 Dime personnel
1x 245 Nickel
5x Man coverage
8x Zone
4x Middle Field Open
9x Closed
9x DBL 3t front
3x Load
2x Over
(5x Mugged)
8x Rush games
4x 5-man rush
1x creeper
8 4-man rush
They can say they did all the fancy shit they want but when u look at the game the dbs were dropping to depth on almost every play and on the plays we weren’t we looked a lot better
This is super optimistic of me, but they put a lot of good tape of themselves out there in a lot of different coverages. This will give them lots that they can specifically watch and improve on, and just maybe we’ll look a lot better on defense because we’ll call stuff that works for the personnel better, and make better plays because of better decision making.
When are the Seahawks going to hire Matty?!?
Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
For whatever reason Pete is pathologically averse to disguising his defenses. He’s always been an our-guys-can-beat-your-guys kind of coach for better and for worse.
Collecting all these versatile players worried me because Pete’s defenses are never creative. We always end up being base with the least blitzing
