[Ian Browne] A statement from former Red Sox chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom:

I will always be grateful to John, Tom, Mike, and Sam for trusting me to lead the Red Sox baseball operations department. Every day, I gave my teammates and this organization everything I had, and I never took a second for granted.

Great things are now in store for the Red Sox. And while I’m sad that I won’t be watching them from the same chair, I will still be very proud.

Red Sox fans, you are the best. Your passion fueled me daily, and added meaning to everything I’ve done here. You very much deserve more championships. And you will get them.

  1. yeah he knows he kinda got screwed over

    “great things are in store”

    “I’ll be proud watching”

    “you will get championships”

  2. If the Red Sox win a WS with a core of Casas, Bello, Yoshida, Duran, Marcelo, Roman Anthony…..

Chaim should have his day in the sun.

  3. By all accounts Chaim seems like a genuine and good dude. I liked the small things like seeing him in the stands picking up trash between double header games. I wish him well, I think he could work out great in a smaller market

  4. I never was a huge Bloom guy but wow this just feels preemptive, and I’m sure the ownership will be nothing but gracious the days following his departure

  5. It’ll be a bad look for FSG if Bloom goes to another team and starts signing FAs. Would make it clear that the lack of spending money was their call.
