Let’s not forget about Goga, another FIBA World Cup participant alongside the Wagner Bros and Paolo!

I’m aware Ingles participated as well but if I’m honest his performance there didn’t get me too excited for his upcoming Orlando debut. However, I hope his veteran locker room presence can still prove to be beneficial to the team. We could still use another veteran or two in my opinion, which makes me wonder why we used a roster spot to sign McClung. Maybe there is a financial side of this that I don’t understand. Anyway, just thinking out loud.

Now that I’m on it though, I may as well give my unsolicited opinion on the status of our frontcourt. Regarding Goga: It’s nice to have another backup rebounder/big body after we let Lopez go. I absolutely love Wendell and Mo, but they are just slightly undersized centers. That generally doesn’t hurt us much (especially in the modern NBA), but there are times when I feel like teams can get out-rebounded or out-bodied. Goga helps fill that gap a bit. I liked what I saw from him last year. As long as we don’t need to rely on him heavily then I like where we’re at!

P.S. I’m aware that nobody gives a sh\*t about this, but the offseason has been long and I’m ready for some Magic basketball gosh darn it!

  1. I like Goga. He only played 17 games with us last season, Iā€™m excited to see how he plays after having a full training camp and some familiarity with the system.
