Rapoport: Rodgers aiming for mid-January return

  1. If he can’t play in RS games then it’s probably not worth he comes back mid playoff run, unless Zach actually is worse than Trent Dilfer but we carried him that far

He’s a better Qb2 option than Boyle on a given game day I guess

He probably has the goal as soon as possible though, I don’t think he believes January at the earliest

  2. Does he know something that we don’t know?😂 all kidding aside I wouldn’t want him to rush him back too soon.

  3. If ZW brings us to the playoffs, we need to roll with ZW for the playoffs. I would rather trust Zach, who brought the team to the playoffs than Rodgers, who torn his Achilles 4 months ago and never threw the ball for the entire season.

  4. I think that’s great that Aaron has that as his goal. I’ve already seen a shift in the fanbase though where I’ve seen declarative statements that he is returning in January. There is still a very very very good chance he is not ready in January.

  5. Where are they getting this timeline from? On the McAfee show when Hawk asked him if he meant he was coming back this year he said he’s not giving himself a timeline and instead was aiming to hit certain markers along the way in his recovery. He didn’t answer Hawks question ‘no’ but he literally said no timeline.

  6. Never going to happen and I wouldn’t want him to rush back from an achilles tear, just sounds dumb. Mid Jan is barely 4 1/2 months.

  7. I’m thrilled that this is his goal cause that means he will be ready for next year training camp/ota. Let’s see what happens this year

  8. As in 100% game shape by mid Jan? As much as I want to believe it, I think he’s blowing smokes.

  9. If he returns from an Achilles injury after 4 months I will start taking medical advice from him because that would be one of the most miraculous recoveries I’ve ever seen

  10. I am here for Zack Wilson’s Matt Saracen storyline where he leads the team, and then when it’s time for Aaron Rodgers to come back for the playoffs Zack slots out to wide receiver and bangs Salehs daughter

  11. Cue the conspiracy theory that he never actually injured the achilles but is instead doing an elaborate team building exercise for ZW while he sits around smoking peyote for 11 weeks

  12. I posted here yesterday that December could be possible with the platelets rich plasma speeding up recovery post surgery.

  13. We eek into a wildcard slot on a very strong D and killer run game despite poor QB play and manage to win the wildcard game on three defensive touchdowns.

Aaron returns, his Achilles tendon encased in mystical healing crystals, and goes 3 -0.

Joe Namath leads the ticker-tape parade in a ’69 convertible making out with Suzy Kolber.

  14. Personally I think we have the talent to still make the playoffs, even despite Zach. To people are saying if Zach takes us to the playoffs he should be the QB who is starting…

Let’s come back to reality – if Zach Wilson is an absolute stud this season, we have more things to celebrate than just making the playoffs. Odds are if we DID make the playoffs – I would imagine it would be through the hands of our stellar defense and offensive weapons. I would hope Zach is playing *better* but I would be quite shocked if he made such a significant leap already.

Regardless, I am on board with the advanced recovery for ARod. If Cam Akers was able to come back in a few months (and plays a much more physically demanding position) then I do believe Aaron can too. I truly don’t think our leadership or Aaron would want to jeopardize a couple of contending seasons if they *didn’t* have full confidence in this as a possibility, aside from Aaron’s evident trust in the process. Yes it has barely been done before, yes he will be 40 – but who’s to say we can’t do it?? This team has been counted out time and time… and time… again.

At the very least – it gives us something to be excited about this season (regardless of it actually happens). Many people think even if we do clinch a playoff spot, without Aaron we’ll be a first round exit. I’d love to think of the possibility he comes back and can lead us to a chip.
