  1. That left side of the line needs an overhaul, Laken rode that single pro bowl to a check and has been subpar ever since.

  2. We’ve known this since early on his rookie year. He has the tools but any pressure and he falls apart.

  3. This isn’t greatly surprising if you remember the line Zach had at BYU. The man was basically never pressured and looked good enough for us to draft him where we did. Of course it’s rare any QB looks at their best under pressure, we just need Zach to be average.

  4. So basically throw the ball away as soon as he sees pressure and can’t run forward and he’d be a god

  5. This is such a silly way to present this stat. Mahomes is great when there’s no pressure, but he’s special because of how great he is when there is pressure. Seems like that would be a pretty important part to include. That’s what separates the greats from the not greats.

  6. This was true last year too, he was like the 6th-best QB in the NFL on EPA per play in a clean pocket. He’s genuinely a very good QB when he isn’t pressured.

When he IS pressured though, he’s complete hot ass; like seriously one of the worst QBs in NFL history. And in the NFL (especially with our crap O line) you’re gonna get pressured on way more plays than you aren’t.

In hindsight this was one of his flaws as a prospect that people overlooked. The BYU O-line was great and the level of competition was not, so he rarely faced pressure in college. Dude had like 5 seconds per pass and had his feet perfectly set on every throw. I don’t know if this can get coached out of him

  7. This is actually the case for a lot of backup/non elite QB.

Dak is one of the best in the league without pressure, one of the worst with it.

Another word for it is soft.

  8. I suspect this is pretty typical of a lot of QBs in the league, particularly the ones who are not the greats. I would be interested in the average of all QBs in their first 2 years. I suspect these are worse then a lot but not too far an outlier.
