  1. The negative people are gonna swarm like they need that endorphin rush like it’s oxygen. It’s coming!

  2. Well Cash wanted Pete to eat 2 innings for some reason and he ended having to use 2 more pitchers and taking the L because of it

  3. Least luckiest Orioles win. Just happy that no matter what we made the playoffs and there’s still a decent amount of ball left so who knows what will happen

  4. So it sucks we lost but that right there was one of the most intense games I’ve ever watched. Real playoff game material. Gotta love good baseball.

  5. Gonna call the O’s lucky because it triggers them and I know they’re in here skulking about like they’re looking for the One Ring

  6. Cash pinch hitting Aranda, keeping Fairbanks in for 2 innings, refs missing an obvious swing and obvious safe call at home, so unbelievable lol.

  7. We got outlucked, not outplayed. At least we can be proud of ourselves for not embracing toxicity? Postseason berth well deserved and a day to never forget for Tristin Gray

  8. if the orioles are following the lead of the 2021 giants, their season will end on a check swing call just as one gave them the division

  9. Back to back innings we had the lead with 2 outs and 2 strikes and choked it away to the luckiest team in the league who is far worst than us in every single stat 🥴

  10. You guys are absolute dipshits if you complain about this team. Whether we go WC1 or win the division outright the team has to prove it regardless. Ted Lasso says believe. Fuck negativity i guess

  11. We took 2 for 2, which was somewhat best case scenario. God damn I wanted this one though. They move on to Houston. We move onto Angles, then we destroy the other birds.

  12. Fuck we needed that win bad. I’m happy we made the playoffs, but winning the division means a first round bye, which would be huge. Now we’re right where we started at the beginning of the series.

  13. I don’t think people realize how good the orioles are. Let’s chill y’all. Give them our their props. We got a killer squad even with all the injuries

  14. All we had to do to win the division was use Armstrong in the 9th inning. Fairbanks already struggled in the 8th. All we had to do was use Armstrong.

Why didn’t just use Armstrong? What did I do wrong?

  15. 5 years in a row of October baseball for Tampa Bay!!!

This is one of those baseball gonna baseball games.

For the hot takes in the crowd:

Josh was out. You could see his hand was not on the plate and the the glove had tagged his arm

Pete was great for 2 innings. Bloop single and fluke double that may or may not have even been fair. The Frazier double was a half swing on a pitch that was dotted 101 at the very bottom corner of the zone. Not a bad pitch. Not even “good pitching, better swing.” Good pitching, poor swing that ended up putting the ball in the perfect spot.

BLowe shouldn’t have bunted Yandy over. That’s playing for the tie. Away team has to try and score 2. You take your chances of getting 1 hit with 3 outs that scores a run and gets you a guy on base to score again. You don’t look to trade 2 outs for 1 run when the home team can do the same in the bottom of the inning. They were playing for the win with the top of their order. That’s the right strategy.

Regardless, I feel the Rays showed they are the better team this series. Every team gets lucky hits. For every Adley soft serve RBI there’s a Harold chop RBI. But I’d rather go into the postseason knowing that we don’t have to cross our fingers and hope for everything to go our way just to win.

That’s right, the postseason. 5 years in a row. That’s what great teams do.

  16. Wild card it is then.

They had that game won. Now they got to spend extra mileage in the WC series. Good job, team.

  17. Nah, this loss hurts. I’m no mood for happy flaps at all. It was a dumbass loss. We were always going to make the playoffs with the lead we had in the WC standings. That was never in doubt.

This was a mismanaged game. Aranda DHing when we have Ramirez is just laughable. Fuck the righty lefty matchup. Ramirez rakes both right and left handed pitchers. Aranda hits worse than Walls and Bethancourt. He’s only a smidge better than Brujan offensively, and a worse baserunner. It took Cash 10 innings to finally use Ramirez. The way he manages lineups and bullpens is just idiotic.

Not to mention leaving Fairbanks in for 30+ pitches and 2 innings? What the fuck? Yeah the umpires fucked us, but Cash made some of the most boneheaded moves I have ever seen. It’s a wonder how he won manager of the year at all with this shit, let alone twice. We absolutely blew this game. Not to mention Randy having some of the lowest baseball IQ ever when he hits. He’s basically like Javi Baez now. Just huge, long swing after huge long swing. I’m so tired of seeing him bat like that.

And we have to have the fewest bunts all of MLB this year. Bunting when you have a runner on second with no outs is just the most obvious play. But our offense never, ever seems to do it.

Pathetic management, and Randy needs to stop swinging for the fences literally every time he bats.

Also fuck the umps, fuck New York.

  18. Those insurance runs are important. Was a great game and we showed what we can do but did not go our way. Postseason time let’s focus on getting better and not the standings! Let’s get a 100 dubs!

  19. Death by a thousand bloop singles and thread-the-needle groundballs. Can’t forget about the NY challenge review team coming in clutch too.

Oh well, just gotta keep winning down the stretch like we’ve been doing

  20. In hindsight, as brutal as that was it was truly some beautiful baseball. Every ounce of drama you could ask for with two teams with so much on the line and so much to prove. I know that it hurts but man you gotta just love baseball sometimes.

  21. Say what you will about cash but if you watch his post games, you see a man who’s been there and done that. Even after todays frustrating loss he’s so even keel and emotionless as he should be. Today wasn’t a playoff game so let’s all relax. The division is still attainable.

  22. I’m so happy that we’re in the playoffs again but we need that #1 seed spot. I’m not real worried about the Jays but losing to them in a WC series might be the worst outcome possible.
