Yeah, JJ!
I think a lot of people hit it on the head yesterday. They played very well early on, but they played super aggressive, full speed 24/7 and kept changing it up (and had excellent early run D). I think it hit the conditioning at the end of the game and the D coaches need to cycle through players a bit more effective so the bulk of the starters are in 24/7 and cycling out for little spurts here/there to refresh their legs so to speak.
Plus, hopefully, conditioning will improve.
I saw a lot of positives on both sides of the ball yesterday, and now its about translating it to the long game when people get tired and exhausted. Also shows how we may need to tune that depth chart a little. By the end they were so gassed they couldn’t stop anything, and that showed when people were running through tackles with ease. Some of it… player depth and they just sucked. Others were players who were doing well, and we know are solid, just being gassed.
JJ falls asleep at halftime like all of the other elderly people
Love this guy, not even part of the team anymore and he’s still repping us better than the national media.
Tale of two halves. If your offense can move the ball your defense stays fresh. Offense couldn’t move in second half, defense is huffing and puffing, it just is what it is. Can’t come out in the second half and have 3 and outs at critical times.
