  1. taking off the “Fire Staley” hat for a second – I’m truly baffled at how he as a defensive playcaller could regress this much from running the #1 defense in the league. Sure you could say he had Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey but those are just two guys, and it’s not like we have bums on this team. Someday I hope to see some analysis or insight into how things went so wrong, not even for schadenfreude reasons but just plain curiosity.

  2. The narrative about Staley’s system has always been that the goal was to stop the big play, and let offenses make mistakes as they inch their way down the field. That was how people defended Staley for having historically bad run defenses the last 2 years.

But somehow, we both give up a shit ton of big plays, and let opposing offenses inch their way down the field with little resistance. It’s the worst of both worlds

  3. Fangio has to be so disappointed lol. His defense is built to limit explosive plays and yet he still gets beat over the top constantly.
