[Falato] Jalin Hyatt’s speed was a true difference-maker for the Giants yesterday, and I’m not just referring to his two catches He ran 12 routes, 11 of them were vertical (seam, go, post)…He took both middle safeties deep, giving Slayton 1v1 matchups on the backside…

  1. Full tweet,

“Jalin Hyatt’s speed was a true difference-maker for the #Giants yesterday, and I’m not just referring to his two catches

He ran 12 routes, 11 of them were vertical (seam, go, post)…He took both middle safeties deep, giving Slayton 1v1 matchups on the backside…Slayton’s two big 4th Q catches were open because the safeties stuck to Hyatt in C4/C1, and, of course, because Slayton ran great routes as well.

Hyatt’s speed also forced Marco Wilson to turn inside and away from Slayton on his 29-yard curl off the motion to stack

Poing being…Hyatt adds another element – a different element – to the offense…Speed, speed, speed. Pair that with Slayton’s explosiveness/speed, and this Giants’ passing attack can look very different from last season if the protection holds up”

  2. Hyatts2nd catch was defended and contested
I thought hyatt did a good job of securing the ball
in mid air. The Db was trying to loosen the ball
Hyatt was having none of it

  3. I knew watching his highlights from college we got the steal of the decade. Dude WILL be a top receiver in the league. God help the nfc East when hyatt develops his route running.(He 1000% will)

Now, let’s give DJ time to throw so we can make the kid rookie of the year. Thankyou dumbass cowboys coach

  4. And this is why that dude needs to be on the field as much as possible. I don’t care who gets bumped. Hyatt is a difference maker.

  5. Imagine if Dimes would just a little bit more on it so Hyatt doesn’t have to slow down? Either way….beautiful play

  6. It’s what you’d imagine the offense to be during the off-season when they got Hyatt and Campbell added to the offense along with Slayton there. 3 sub 4.40 speedsters along with Waller and Hodgins. Supposed to have lots of open space with that type of speed on the field.

  7. Called this out in a different post immediately after the game. Once Jones hit him deep to start the second half, Arizona defense was forced to play on their heels and everything underneath opened up. Hyatt catching that bomb and the coaches (hopefully) realizing that he needs more snaps is going to be the play that turns this season around.
