The Captain.
Also, it’s funny if you re-read it as, “threw it at him on his way out the door.”
Great Judge quote from the article: “I was getting up, and I had somewhere to be, but I saw (Domínguez) was done, so it was just, ‘I’m heading this way anyway. Let me take this for you, man. Hang out here.’ I think there were a couple of other guys with us, too. I don’t know. I’ve always tried to do that. Other guys have done that for me. We’re a team. It doesn’t matter if he’s in High A or Low A or just got drafted. You’re still wearing the pinstripes. You’re still wearing the ‘NY’ logo. You’re still part of this team. At some point, we’re going to be teammates.”
I think this says more about the kind of world we live in where courtesy is completely unexpected because hardly anyone has it anymore. Judge was just being a normal nice dude and Dominguez was blown away by that.
Aaron Judge could throw me in the trash and I would thank him
Judge probably returns his shopping cart inside every time too.
On a semi-related note, and my own $.02: The Athletic continues to have some of the best and most insightful sports writing in the industry.
Why are these guys using paper plates??? lol
Yes, I know that’s not the point of the story, but still.
