2. there’s something to be said about waiting till now to get it, obviously there could be reasons, but I does look slightly sus

3. Honestly I don’t think they are done circumventing the cap either. I have a theory that they are going to sign Patrick Kane to a 1yr contract like Bertuzzi and Domi place him on LTIR where he will be activated by November giving the Leafs more time to decide whether or not Nylander is worth sticking around or if they can get him down enough to a reasonable cap hit. I’m on the side of wait and see and if Nylander has a really great start to the season that would make him more valuable to trade

4. Poor guy, I was rooting for him so hard. I’ll never forget that game in Dallas.

   Here’s hoping he can get healthy enough to be able to play again, maybe even for us.

5. Wasn’t expecting this. Thought it was his concussions that would be keeping him from any kind of return to playing. May still be the concussions but also this significant surgery on top of that. Feel just awful for the guy 🙁

I’m not sure if you guys had heard of trav4oilers on YouTube but apparently hes good friends with Matt, he was recently (i think his videos are about three weeks delayed) golfing with matt, which i thought was super surprising because i thought he was injured. But i guess this statement shows that not everything is what it seems. Hopefully the surgery is a success
