[Wood] 1) he hired an attorney today 2) the Bears put out a 1 sentence notice he had resigned, didn’t even thank him 3) they immediately deleted all records of his existence off their website I don’t know what happened, but nobody believes this is just resigning for health reasons.

  1. I don’t understand what is going on here and why they won’t just fucking clarify the situation. This is a thing that cannot be handled with silence, it is too heavy. So the right thing Chicago Bears.

  2. And here i thought Mel Tucker was going to be our only former DC involved in a crazy story this week…..

  3. The attempt at damage control is hilarious, it just makes it 10x worse and creates constant speculation.

  4. 100%. They’ve handled this in a way that a company would do to distance itself from someone.

The fact that he resigned at the apex of the frenzy today was too dramatic – if it were really a health issue there would be no reason for it to happen the way it did.

I really hope it isn’t the horrible rumor that was going around, but something happened that no one wants to talk about.

  5. I’ve never in my life seen the bears at this level of national attention. This is BRUTAL, especially for Warren and Poles. They need to figure out how they’re going to run with this because this could have some implications on new stadium, location, etc. this is just shitty from a fan perspective.

  6. Doesn’t matter. This is 2014 level clown shit. Just gotta sit back and wait for the 50 burger on Sunday now.

  7. The one sentence response is really the only bizarre thing to me. Makes me think it wasn’t a move that was very appreciated by the team and there was some bad blood there.

My guess is that there was some behind the scenes drama where he started taking a lot of the blame and that didn’t go over well. Which would explain why Eberflus’s comments about the situation were so weird because they literally had no idea if he was planning to show back up to work or not.

  8. All the two bit blogger hacks are talking about this while the real media says nothing. So of course this fanbase is all pro hacks

  9. I thought Kevin Warren would bring sanity to this organization but it appears to still be odd and weird with the way they handle their business. The Nate Davis thing all could have been avoided with some transparency and I guess we will see where this all goes, but what a weird sequence of events today. Can’t they just be normal? Both on the field and off it?

  10. I’m going to laugh so hard when it truly is just health and family issues and everyone tries to blame the Bears organization like it’s their fault or responsibility to deal with random rumors circulating the internet. Ones that have been shot down but “not in the right way.” Dude was a bad defensive coordinator who barely lasted over a year. Maybe they just didn’t care that he’s gone or more likely they just don’t care to make a former coaches personal life their business which quite frankly is a good stance.

  11. Guys I’m telling you I know someone that works in the organization that 100% said he had cp on his computer. I talked about it with a friend and he heard the same thing from someone else. It’s only a matter of time before this whole thing drops. I don’t give a fuck if anyone believes this or not but it’s happening either way

  12. So many accounts though saying his house was raided and very detailed accounts of Peanut informing Ebs,Poles and Warren (Ebs crying for example) Seems like a lot to just make up. The biggest challenge is the seemingly false account of Halas Hall being raided but you could see how that might’ve happened if Peanut and other FBI “jacketed” people came to Halas hall to talk to senior management.

  13. Mike Florio, who spent 18 years practicing labor law before becoming an NFL analyst, said today on the Score that the simplest explanation is that Flus didn’t like the way he ran the defense, took some responsibilities away from him, and Williams got pissed and walked out.

  14. All I know is the Bears are all over national TV and YouTube for all the wrong reasons. We’re the laughing stock of the NFL right now.

  15. To think a bunch of old ass dudes drooling out the mouth about this bullshit drama, this isn’t the Bad News Bears I wanted. This Org’s toughest battles are off the field.

  16. Maybe its a simple reason that the bears may not even know what to say yet, and need a couple days or a couple details to clear up themselves??

Then they either wish him best wishes in a couple days and we all played reddit detective for a few days for no reason….

OR we learn that they werent at liberty to talk about it yet for some legal reason…. which has been speculated already also but then what else do you want them to do??

At this point, all our opinions of how this should be handled barely matter
