Broncos offense and Russell Wilson league rankings

  1. Russel Wilson is to blame. If he would have scored 3 more touchdowns last week, we would have won. If we are going to pay you like a top 10 QB in the league, you need to play like a top 10 QB in the league. If our Defense is going to allow 4 touchdowns he needs to be able to score 8 touchdowns. Every loss is on Wilson this year because if he would have scored more, we wouldn’t have lost. We can’t lose if we score more than the other team does.

  2. THE DEFENSE IS WHY WE ARE LOSING GAMES. But people want to blame the offense.

w1 only 6 possessions on offense. How do you only have 6 possession
s, the defense was on the field for majority of the game. And our offense has long sustained drives that actually resulted in point 4/6 of the drives. The offense held up their end, defense did not.

w2 the defense couldn’t stop a cold after the first quarter. Zero turnovers and our offense still scored 33 points. Quite literally if the defense made 2 stops in the game, we win.

Stats don’t provide evidence that russell is the problem. The film doesn’t provide evidence that russell is the problem. But on the contrary, the stats and the film paint the picture. Our DEFENSE is hot garbage.

Is he worth his money? Probably not but he also is not problem 1 or hell not even problem 5 for why we are losing games.

  3. It’s almost as if this is a team sport, and not one person can make a win happen.

Edit to add, Fire Vance Joesph and FTR.

  4. I don’t understand the obsession some people have of blaming him. It made sense last year, makes no sense so far this year.

  5. This feels like a weird Monkey Paw situation. We wanted our offense to do better this year. And now it’s the defense that is slacking.

  6. The offense has been hot and cold, but it’s not really the problem right now. We’re 2 games in, the offense could really get going a month or two from now. The defense on the other hand is going to tank us…

  7. Even without seeing the numbers laid out like this, it’s very clear if you’re watching the games the offense is not the issue right now. Could we do without the turnovers, especially a momentum-changing fumble when you’re up 21-3 and driving? Sure. But the defense flat out has to be better.

  8. You can make stats say almost anything. Go watch the film that Tim Jenkins put out earlier in the week and the film that Kurt Warner put out on Russell last week and tell me you still feel the same about Russ. He’s inconsistent at best. You can blame the coaching, the defense, the receivers, etc. all you want, but the fact remains, going all the way back to last year, Russ is not doing the things that he should be doing to help his team win games. Colin Cowherd said it best, earlier this week… when you pay a player over $250 million, you expect that player to elevate your franchise, even in the face of other bad aspects to the team. You don’t expect the franchise to have to elevate that player. Russ needs to go!

  9. Man I thought we’d see a defensive regression but nothing like this.

I very much don’t like Vance Joseph but the best thing we can do is hope the defense meshes more throughout the season cause I really doubt he’s getting fired.

  10. This is a great lesson in statistics. Just because something can be measured doesn’t mean it needs to be measured. It also doesn’t mean that it is important.

There’s one stat that currently matters. 0-2. This is a team game. Doesn’t matter how you get there.

  11. I appreciate the effort to end the Russ hate. If he can keep these numbers up he’ll prove he isn’t washed, we’re not morons for paying for him, and that Vance Joseph is the problem.

  12. I think we are overly defending the offense based off stats. We get off to very hot starts and then wilt in the second half on offense. Had back to back terrible turnovers to allow the Commanders back into the game and allowed 7 sacks.

HUGE improvement on offense from last year but incredibly hot and cold. Need to be more consistent.

The defense is obviously more of an issue at the moment but we shouldn’t act like the offense is fixed.

  13. Sick is that the same offense that scored 9 total points (minus the Hail Mary) in two second half’s at home?

  14. One stat that should be added to that post is that they are averaging 0.0 wins per game this season.

  15. I hope that the NFL doesn’t go all-in on all these weird stats. The only stat that matters is wins. The NFL season is too short to care about DVOA and CPOE (whatever they are). After two back-to-back losses to start the season, it can be over and done six weeks from now if all those stats don’t translate to wins.

  16. Now post Russ’s ranks only in the second half of games. He’s by far from the biggest problem but let’s not act like he’s blameless in these first two games
