One of the best parts about his game this year, even when he’s going 0-4 in a game it’s usually 1 strike out and some balls in play. Atleast he always get a chance to get to first/can give productive outs to move runners over
Brandon Gaudin and Jeff Francoeur have been saying that the whole team dropped its strikeout rate about half this year and that’s a big part of their offensive success. I don’t have the actual stats, but the hitting coaches have done some phenomenal work with the players in that department.

Edit: I checked a few stats and it hasn’t been half for the team. Closer to 2 fewer strikeouts per game. We have the 6th lowest SO/9 this year, compared to 2nd worst last year.
