  1. Get it done. He fits the Nick Nurse system and he makes us better defensively around the perimeter which is what we need.

  2. Maybe I am delusional, but if we can turn Harden’s fat ass into Jrue, without giving up Maxey of course, I feel like I would suddenly feel quite positive about this upcoming season.

I think the celtcs are worse than last year, Bucks are slightly better, but would be a decent match up for the sixers, Miami is definitely worse and, I wouldn’t be too worried about the Knicks or the Cavs yet…

  3. Sixers get:
    Holiday
    Covington

    Clippers get:
    Harden
    Tucker

    Blazers get:
    Marcus morris
    Nic batum
    Amir Coffey
    1st from clippers
    1st from sixers

    Get it done!

Holiday will likely not pick up his player option for 2024. Means the sixers could go for kawhi/ Pg/ Siakam/ OG in free agency

  4. We’re in a decent position for this. The Clippers offer is marginally worse than ours. On paper, we can very much flip Harden for at least one first and combine it with our only tradable pick whereas the Clippers don’t really have anyone that they wouldn’t mind getting rid of who can generate a first rounder.

The only team that could do better is the Celtics, but they’d be paying at least three first rounders for Jrue Holiday, a massive overpay. Also, if you’re the Blazers, you’d probably bank on that Clippers pick and/or one of our picks being a good one in 2028 and 2029 than you would the Celtics.

Lakers don’t really have anything. Holiday doesn’t really make a lot of sense for the Knicks and the Pacers with them both being pretty set at lead guard, and I can’t imagine either giving up more than a pick. The Heat may have pissed off Cronin who has said before that Herro and scraps is not going to cut it.

Is two picks, one of our own and one from a third team, an overpay? Sure. Jrue also doesn’t have a great playoff track record, and he isn’t a long-term solution, but the fit is immaculate between he, Maxey and Joel. In a perfect world, we would be able to sub in Tobias for Harden, find a team willing to give us a pick for Tobi and save Harden for yet another trade. But no one’s desperate enough to give up a pick for Tobi’s Bird rights lol.

  5. As long as we don’t lose ’29 FRP, this is as good as we’re gonna get for Harden. Jrue hasn’t been good in the Playoffs recently tho and I’m not sure we’re better on paper than last year, but the fit isn’t bad next to Maxey, big guard who can defend at a high level and is a good passer. We still need Maxey to take a huge step in terms of iso scoring tho.
