Alright I think first line Benson is a real possibility. This isn’t just “stick a rookie on every line”. Most of these look pretty plausible as to how we’d start, especially with Granato talking about how much he wants Mittelstadt at center.
Peterka – Cozens – Olofsson was the most productive/least harmful line for Olofsson last year but it’s a small sample of just 7.2% of his ice time. I’m interested in seeing more. If Olofsson can’t figure it out playing with Cozens we need to move on.
Greenway has looked much better defensively and because of that I’d be interested in a Greenway/Thompson/Benson line because Thompson/Benson looked like they could have some juice and Skinner/Mittelstadt/Tuch looked great to end the year last season.
I like this. If Benson earns a spot on the team (no matter if just for 9 or for the whole year) I’d much rather see him get lots of playing time than only 8 min a night like Wright with Seattle last year. And so far he has looked like he can hold his own in a top 6 role (it’s just preseason of course, but that’s all we can judge him by for now).

Benson getting his 9 games and then sent back to juniors for Kane to take that spot. Not really stoked on that but it seems like that’s a likelihood.
Put Jost or Rousek in Olofsson’s spot and I’m down for it. Cozens needs more stronk on his wing
