As I understand, discipline changes like that aren’t generally applied retroactively, so it shouldn’t affect him. I could be wrong though.
I’d be surprised if they apply it retroactively, especially considering he bet on his team to win, not to lose (I believe). There’s a HUGE difference IMO.
I don’t think his suspension is technically “finalized” yet though, as in he has to apply for reinstatement next year, so it’s entirely possible that they just deny his reinstatement if/when he applies for it because of this new rule.
I’m not betting (heh) on him being on the team next year though, it’s basically a low risk lottery ticket that Howie took out because why not. I don’t think anyone in the FO is banking on him being here.
I heard from a super credible source that I’m definitely not making up that Sean Payton had money on dolphins -30. Please investigate!
