  1. I’m not really into the idea. I just don’t think someone who makes $50M a year can be useful. The Angels have had him and Trout and couldn’t win. Why should we think it would be different if he was here? It takes a team to win. I would much rather have 5 guys making $10M a year. Look at the teams who are doing well this year. Now look at the teams who spent the most in the off-season. Mets and Padres won’t make the playoffs. The way to win nowadays is to develop talent from within. The Tampa bay model works. The old Yankees model of just bringing in stars does not.

  2. I feel like his signing is going to be very underwhelming for the fans of the team he signs for.

Biggest contract in the history of the MLB? …and he’ll only be half utilized his first year.

Gotta put question marks on the years to follow.

It’s a high risk, high reward contract.

I hope there are stipulations…”Earn $X when you are able to pitch Y games in a year.”

  3. Yeah it would be awesome, but It’ll hardly solve our problems. He won’t be pitching next year and there’s no telling how he’ll age. Is it really worth paying the biggest contract in the MLB when that money could go to pitching or retaining young and future talent?

  4. Would like to have Ohtani but I would prefer another power bay from the right side to complement/protect Devers… plus, obviously pitching

  5. I was at the game on Wednesday, some dude told me his friend knows Ohtanis translator or something and said Bostons his top choice👀. Take this with a grain of salt but I wouldn’t be surprised

  6. I don’t want ohtani, because I don’t think his contract would be worth it, however it would be very difficult to keep a smile off of my face if the red sox did sign him
