  1. This team fucking sucks.

Joe NEEDS to be benched until he is fully healthy. It is an active detriment to the team to keep him out there. Not only does it limit playcalling to the most generic Ask Madden shit possible, but Joe can’t make the throws due to his calf, and keeping him out there increases the chance of further injury. Joe is a competitor, he’s not going to voluntarily sit out. Zac needs to grow a pair, sit him down and tell him he’s out until he’s healthy. And he needed to do it weeks ago. Just imagine, if he had sat Joe at the beginning of the season, he could be back to full health by now, only staring down an 0-3 hole. Instead he’s keeping him out there and making it actively worse. We gave Joe all the money for a reason, his long term health needs to be protected and prioritized over these games at the beginning of the season. It’s inexcusable at this point. It’s a failure of coaching to not do it sooner, and the longer Joe is trotted out there at half health only to be incapable of throwing the ball further than 10 yards, the more blatant coaching malpractice is put on display.

And don’t even get me started on what a disaster our defense has turned into. From a top tier group last season to a bottom 5 group this year.

  2. Alright, several things. I know this is long bengals bros but I’m feeling and thinking a lot right now *sad who dey* :

1-Start with the elephant in the room. We were right to fire pollack the first time. Bringing him back cost us a Super Bowl win. We have one of the most expensive lines in the league and yet our qb is a tackling dummy and it’s sure as hell not because he’s holding onto the ball. He’s leading the league in release time because he has no other choice. The guy who made the volson isn’t actually bad post needs to take that down, yikes.

2-There have been visible signs of player frustration from Pratt to chase’s public remarks to Boyd’s/Tee’s comments. That is especially bad because…

3-ZT is a culture guy. He is NOT an offensive genius. He coached the u of Cincinnati to ten straight scoreless quarters and essentially lost his offensive play call duties. If he has lost the locker room, he has to go and I know that he’s brought us more success than anyone in a long time but it seems clear that he’s just been carried by a healthy burrow. It’s normal for teams to bring in culture coaches to help a team rebuild and then find “that guy” to push them to the end. Zac has been great and meaningful to the city but he has consistently shown that he isn’t “that guy.” We used to be least penalized in the league and now we are racking them up. Feels like he’s lost the team at multiple levels.

4-Also, building on the previous issue, tee seems so checked out; I have to wonder how the contract negotiations have influenced that. Either way, this has to be related to points 2 and 3. But again, we have loaded skill positions and no production. Maybe he is hurt, maybe his agent is in his head and he’s “hurt.” Regardless, this Tennessee team has had similar to worse offense than us, and we made them look good. Hell, Tennessee has tried to draft a replacement for their qb two years in a row and he torched us. Let alone Henry smoking us while other teams stacked the box successfully (see browns). But my point here is we have too much talent on O to have worse performances offensively than chef Russel. And we shouldn’t need the D to carry us every game while scoring 3 points with tee and chase and burrow. After the Boyd comments and tees body language and performances, trade him while there’s a market.

5- We have the worst O in the league, a rebuilding D, and the worst punter. 4 games in, I don’t feel a run like the chiefs had last year coming. Clearly losing bates and bell mattered more than any of us could’ve thought. Our D used to carry us and we would’ve lost against the rams without them. We can’t expect that every week (19 points of O in a win???). Burrow might be hurt but he can’t take the kind of deal he took and not play to par, but see issue 1 I suppose.

6-We seem to have whiffed on our draft this past year which is especially important for a team with pinched cap space and looming contracts. Our edge just got his first stat today, our TE room is non existent, RB cycle is bad, and punter could get cut any minute. Sure, we need to give them time to develop but they don’t have time. We have to hit on picks.

7-This just ain’t it. Call me a doomer, I’m sad about this year. I had high expectations. I accept that we just aren’t as good, but I’m sad about it. I’ll watch every game still and ride it out but we went from young, scrappy, and immaculate vibes to down real real bad. We have a hard schedule in the second half and this team, as it stands, is not winning those games.

8- who Dey, see yall next week👋🏻

  3. For everyone wondering what happened to this team it’s very simple. Burrows injury means no off-season work, no off-season work plus injured burrow means burrow playing limited with poor communication and chemistry with the offense, a limited burrow means he can’t overcome ZT pedestrian playcalling like he did last year. Defense had a bad game today but they’ve been fine. The root of the issue is the offense is solely reliant on burrow and if he’s not 100% there’s no support

  4. How many losses before fellow fans are ready to jettison Taylor and get Burrow coaching that will find wins?

  5. I’d have less of problem if we’d actually acknowledge that we look bad and something needs to change. Not this narrative of oh we just have to gain our focus back we’re not worried. It’s time to be worried, we look like steaming hot garbage. Burrow is not doing us any favors by being out there if he’s hurt either. Zac needs to stand up and acknowledge he shouldn’t be playing until he’s healthy and for fuck sake give up play calling you clown. This is basically Marvin Lewis with a quarterback that is going to be the next Andrew Luck.

  6. Joe is an amazing QB but when he’s injured you either sit him out from week 1 until he’s healthy or you play him and count on zac taylor. They chose to play him and zac taylor showed how bad he is without a top 5 QB.

An injured Joe is still an above average NFL starter + he has a top 5 skill position unit.

Zac Taylor should be embarrassed. He is a low end head coach as you can see through the first 4 weeks.

  7. ZT playing burrow in that 4th quarter is beyond inexcusable. I’m not exaggerating or being hyperbolic when I say this: if I’m Duke Tobin I’m firing ZT after that. We have invested too much in burrow to have his coach trying to break him in a game that was beyond over. We’ve seen this exact script with Andrew luck and the colts, and it doesn’t end well

  8. I’ve been a pretty staunch ZT defender for a while now, I mean it felt like anything was an upgrade to Marvin Lewis. But it’s time to move on

This team consistently comes in to games unprepared and out coached. The offense refuses to evolve and uses their offensive playmakers almost as poorly as the Falcons. There’s no excuses here, the coaching IS the problem

And as good as the defense and Lou have been, they let us down here. 27 points to a team that scored 3 last week is absolutely unacceptable. Fire Zac.

  9. I normally watch football all day every Sunday.

I’m too sad to watch more football today.

  10. It’s weird feeling like I watched a bengals game from the 1998 season but still having hope…

  11. Never replaced Perine or Hurst’s production. Same playcalling and position issues as the past 2 years, but no high-end-talent-bailout this time. Worse, the team has been playing and scheming arrogantly. This season should be a wake-up call for the org not to rest on their laurels.

Edit: can’t hang this defense going 3 and out every drive

  12. At least watching the Jets get absolutely blown out by KC tonight will make me feel a little better about our franchise.

  13. It’s time to sit Burrow down. He’s not helping the team win right now. As a result of the offense being bad the defense is on the field more than it should be and they are just worn down. I got nothing else this is not a good football team right now.

  14. This was absolutely embarrassing. We could hardly smell the end zone without being blown out of it. 3 points. 3 measly points.

  15. There are more important things than football. I’ve decided to take up reading and quiet contemplation

  16. I don’t blame the defense. They were on the field literally the entire game and phantom, then bonehead penalties helped wear them down even more. This one is 110% on Zac Taylor. In fact, the entire season is on him. He’s got to fucking get canned. Proves every single game that HE was the one who stopped the Bengals from getting a Super Bowl. They made it there in spite of him.

  17. What do we have, like THREE offensive touchdowns in FOUR games?

    😬😬😬😬😬😬😬

  18. Burrow should straight up come out and say Zac Taylor is a God awful play-call and he’s got to go. What’re they gonna do? Sit their $275 million QB? Fuck it. Joe should stop being a baby and fucking light ZT up!

  19. I bailed at 17-3. Not going to lie. 53 years as a fan has told me it was time to “cut the lawn” as we used to call it back in the lost decade years.

Taylor is signed through 2025 I believe. He is not going anywhere if you been a fan of the team longer than Joe Burrow’s Bengal career. NOBODY here dislikes Zac more than me. I took probably 1000 downvotes over that guy, but I also know Mikey will not fire him and even if we had an owner with a itchy trigger finger, Burrow’s injury gives Zac a free pass for 2023.

Yeah, I know. Your non Bengal friends are fucking with you because the party is probably over this year. Thats why you just need to be a fan and not talk shit because bad years happen. We can play Monday Morning QB all night and it will not change anything the Bengal’s do tomorrow.

Burrow not only saved Zac’s job, but Lou’s as well with long drives, time possession and flipping the field even if they did not score. Defenses see Burrow out there in Shotgun, know he isn’t running and know he cannot put full pressure to throw and just coming after him.

I am literally shocked people thought this team was running the division after Burrow and Bengal’s management thought playing on that calf was a great idea.
