No Coaching Changes 4 Games into the Season – Dennis Allen

You could write a script for DA’s press conference excuses after these putrid offensive performances that we are being subjected to for going on two seasons now.
DA really is going to go down with his ship though, isn’t he. Gotta give him some credit- he meant what he said when he said “keep doing what you’re doing.”
So Carmichael will still be calling plays on Sunday…
Can we have a playcaller change at least?
I’ve been a pretty stern DA defender but this is sunk cost fallacy and pride right here.
He’s defending his staff because by extension he’s defending his self, but we heard it after last season, we heard it last week, now we’re hearing it today. The more he rehashes the “Pete knows he’s gotta get better” and doesn’t make the leash any shorter, the more tied Pete’s performance becomes tied to his job security.
I can deal with his conservative, field position mentality with managing games. I don’t think he’s ever lost the locker room, no matter what people interpret from home. But if we put up another stinker of less than 20 points and we get the same canned response from it with no action, *that* is the kind of thing that heats your seat up.
Can we at least learn from our lessons then?
NFL teams rarely fire anyone 4 games into the season. Pete is due professionalism and a chance to fix whatever the fuck he is doing and that’s what DA is doing. He called him out and I’m sure they had a nice long discussion.
DA doesn’t have to bow to the mob and fire a guy because we hate him.
Let him do his job, run the team, and deal with his coaches professionally.
The worst part is that our schedule is so easy that we’re gonna finish 8-9 and run back the exact same team and coaching staff the next yr 🙃

Jesus Christ we have no fucking backbone whatsoever. Benson, loomis, or DA are going to let this slide? Unacceptable. Like when Tampas offense sucked they blew it up. We have no identity whatsoever
