[Maiocco] As #49ers begin practice on 87-degree day … Christian McCaffrey, Trent Williams, Charvarius Ward, Deebo Samuel and Jauan Jennings are on the practice field. Jon Feliciano is advancing through concussion return-to-play protocol. Elijah Mitchell (knee) is not on the field.

1. I think he just mentions CMC and Trent because they had vet days yesterday

2. Man, Mitchell can NOT stay healthy to save his life. Dude plays 15 snaps and gets injured over and over again

3. Real bummer about Mitch. Need to start running the ball with other people than cmc.

4. I would just drop Mitchell at this point and get Mason more snaps.
   I just feel like Mason is struggling with ball security and with pass protection

5. It’s starting to feel like Elijah Mitchell is in Shanahan’s dog house, so they are just holding him out of everything to punish him. They’ve done similar things with other players in the past, and they’ve never been shy about saying players are injured when they turned out to be fine.

6. I’d give Mitchell one more shot once he gets healthy, if he gets injured again put him on season ending IR make a trade for a 2nd back and then cut/ trade Mitchell this offseason. The dude is talented but can’t be relied upon at all. The 49ers desperately need a second back that can be trusted that can take some of the load off CMC.

7. Is that ‘87’ in reference to being too hot, or really cool? Cause here in Arizona, that sounds perfect lol

8. I wouldn’t get rid of Elijah just yet. Look what happened to Mostert. He was injured, but look at him playing healthy in MIA now.

9. We should try Ronnie Bell as 3rd option. Dude is quick!
