Basically, pretty freaking good. Bat speed and sweet spot% have been 2 metrics that have been shown to have big correlation to future success as a hitter, so it’s great for Outman to be really good at those
Most of his problems come from contact and swing and miss but since his slump he’s running an 80% zone contact rate which is fantastic for someone like him. BB% is high, lots to like with Outman for the future, definitely feel like there’s 6 fWAR ceiling with Outman with him being one of the best defenders in the sport, with good power and plate discipline and improving contact rates. Just have to not be the worst player in the sport for 2 months and we’re great

He’s really fun to watch. Such a compact swing but tons of power. Glad he adjusted after that brutal stretch in the middle.

April Outman was awesome to witness, but I am happy with the post-slump Outman we have now. His offense has improved since his slump and the dude is a vacuum in CF and fills the void in defense with Belli’s departure. Excited for Outtie‘s future.
