  2. I sold my tickets to this game…..

I had the Sunday package from 2008 till 2015 and during the 08,09,10,11 runs had tickets to one round of all of those playoff series. After being at every round up to that point I made the decision to sell those NLDS tickets to a good friend at face value so I could work that night instead(I was a bartender at a very busy sports bar at the time). For me selling the tickets and working vs going to the game and partying was a $700 swing and I needed the cash.

Fucking Roy goes and does that. It was bittersweet but I’m happy my buddy got to see history while I was sweating behind a bar.

  3. I put my stub for this game into a book on my bookshelf for safekeeping until I had time to get it framed. Then I kinda forgot about it for a bit, and now I don’t know what book it was. It’s still here somewhere!

  4. I think that game is second only to Super Bowl 52 in terms of the most emotionally invested I’ve ever been in any game of any sport I’ve ever watched. 2008 made me a fan, but I was too young to really understand what it meant. By 2011 I was fully rabid. I was 11 and that was the first time I was allowed to eat dinner in front of the TV, my parents knew better. Remember it so vividly, such an exciting night.

  5. I was there, too! My Uncle and I were in a group of season ticket holders. After the celebration at the end, my Uncle was confused to why there was so much fanfare. I had to point him to the score board and the no hits. He asked me why I didn’t say anything during the game. I then had to explain that you just don’t do that.

More importantly, I won the raffle before the game to get a Roy Halladay signed ball. I’ve never won a raffle before or since in my life. I couldn’t have chosen a better one to win.

  6. My wife was away and traveling that day, so I bought a ticket to this game on stubhub in Sec 109 and went by myself. Hard to believe, but at the time I was able to get the tic for $99! It was an incredible game, an incredible day. All the fans around me didn’t peep a word about the excellence we were seeing before our eyes. We were so lucky to experience Halladay pitching this gem.
