  1. I don’t understand the need here unless they keep up Andrae. Is it worth losing Allison for free just to see Andrae in 10-30 games NOW instead of at the end of the season when players are inevitably shipped out for picks?

    Frustrating.

  2. Allison needs a change of scenery, injuries have caused him to struggle here, maybe we trade him for a pick but I wanna see them use Brink and Forester. The roster has shown promise, real promise, and IK we aren’t gonna be good but knowing Johnny T he’ll find a way to make this team a lot better than they actually are.

  3. I know we say this a lot without it happening, but this time I’d be actually stunned if he isn’t claimed. Sucks that we may be losing a potentially unique bottom-6 guy who could really be a valuable piece on a winning team, but I get why he’s getting waived too. Availability is the best ability so they say…

  4. Sad because I watched him a lot with the Phantoms and he was sorta a cult hero for us, but I understand the position they’re in with so many names in one spot.

  5. Allison has been probably my favorite prospect of the last 3 years now. Bummer to see him potentially leaving because I think he fits our timeline and adds some physicality to our forward lines. But I hope he finds success out there.

  6. Wish him luck, I dont know if they explored anything in trades but this makes it easier for a team to take a chance on him without any real risk. Shitty that it happened it right at the end of everyones training camps and rosters are more or less being set this weekend so Allison probably starts in the AHL whereever he ends up but he’s gonna be a beast down there

  7. Allison is a real stand up guy. Saw him on the streets of Barrington in front of Tonewood last year. Dude was genuinely stoked to be recognized and took the time to say hi and shake my hand.

He may not be the most talented prospect, but he works hard. I understand this decision from a business perspective and hope he finds success wherever he lands.

  8. I love Wade Allison, class act, great player, locker room glue guy. He’s the man and I wish him well

  9. I like Wade, but the truth of the matter is he is a 26 yr old player, and hasn’t shown the potential a Brink or a Foerster has, nor the production of a Farabee, Cates, Frost or Tippett. He was has been on the outside looking in for a while now.

At worst it frees up a contract spot for us.

  10. I like wade as a player and would hate to lose him but I’d love to see him get a permanent spot on a team and hopefully a contender.

  11. Absolutely love Wade but I totally understand this decision. His game is built entirely around speed & tenacity and it’s apparent he has less and less of it after each subsequent injury. It is simply too difficult to pencil him into any future plans with his volatility and lack of progress.

  12. This one hurts. I was always pulling for Wade to get healthy and play for us and he would and then he’d get hurt again.

He was fun to watch for the short time we had him, if he could focus all the energy he brings to the game he could be a really decent player.

  13. I like it. Jonesy and Briere are weeding out all the guys who just aren’t a good fit for one reason or another. Allison is a good dude, but he’s simply been too unreliable.
