He got lucky right after this. He got sent down, but broke his foot right before the flight. So the Canucks were forced to keep him on the NHL roster long-term while he recovered. If he broke his foot a couple hours later, it would have cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars.
His brother, Billy, also played 3 games for the ‘Nucks around the same time.
