The “calloused doomer” check box hits home
First ballot? He’s only been an all-star twice and batted .230 this year
He’s been awesome in so many ways… but there’s a reason he gets booed on the road. The Astros cheating thing will be part of his legacy.

I don’t know shit about baseball (especially postseason Carlos) …does he get a lot of first plates?
I would slow our roll on the HOF. He’s performing great in the playoffs and I obviously hope he rebounds, but if he doesn’t get back to years of his normal WAR, he’s not gonna get there.
I was a little butthurt when he chose to opt out of our contract… but luckily for us he failed the Giants and Mets physicals and came back to our open arms 🥰 it all worked out.
I’m a lifelong Twins fan..born and raised. I bleed Kirby Puckett.
But I LOVED that 2017 Astros team. Seriously. They were incredible. So the let down of the scandal has taken a lot to move on from because of how in awe of them I was.
This makes me want Correa to succeed as a Twin even more. Imagine him winning a World Series now. God I hope he would write book. It’d be such an incredible come back story. Lots of really great learning lessons to be learned by him I’m sure. The type of story we need more of in society: people fuck up. But you can fix yourself & come back from it.
That said, I blame the systemic failure of MLB for leering that scandal play out before doing anything about it more than I do the specific players.
I still love Altuve.
I love Bonds. McGwire. All for it. The stories are so so important. All of these things can be true.
Correa has a unique opportunity to do something almost no one else gets to do- rise above his mistakes.
So I’m a big fan of the dude now. And I hope we win a WS with him on the team.
I do miss Nick Punto. Hardly anyone recognizes his jersey when I wear it to games these days.
I have prided myself this season on always defending Correa, Jax and Buxton throughout the rough patches.
