  1. I really don’t know what I don’t know, here. I’d rather he be out there instead of Wallace.

  2. Sure, I have no problem with the Steelers not starting Joey Porter Jr. this week. Bye week is a bit of a tough opponent. Give him one more week and then start him 🙂

  3. Porter just had the best game of any rookie in Week 5, and the two guys ahead of him on the depth chart look like burnt toast. I get that the Steelers like easing rookies into action, but Porter looked ready. Keep him limited against the Rams if you want due to Kupp and Nacua, but he needs to be starting by the time we face the Jaguars at the end of October. Can’t afford to drop AFC games.

  4. Do whatever it takes to make sure Chandon Sullivan doesn’t see the field again. Slide Pat Pete to the slot, let JPJr take his spot outside on sub package downs.

  5. I wonder how much of the responsibility for this decision lies with Tomlin—and even though it can be exhausting having every little flaw go back to MT, he is the guy with control over the defense. If Austin and Tomlin can’t see that JPJ is an upgrade on Wallace and Pat Pete, then IDK what they’re doing over there. I get easing a rookie in, but I don’t see any big mistakes from Porter to this point.

  6. With as bad as the starters have been, there’s no reason to wait any longer at this point.

  7. So we start a game with Peterson and Wallace, we get diced up so late in the third we change to Porter and Wallace, suddenly our pass defense is way better, then you come out and say he’s still not ready. I’m so glad it’s hockey season

  8. His sample size is really small to now ask him to do it all game. This sub wants to hate every coach but this isn’t a slight on JPJ, corner is a hard position to play as a rookie full time. It will take one bad play where he gets burnt due to miscommunication and you guys will ask for his head. Chill out.

Obviously he is being brought along more and more each week. This is smart and shouldn’t be shit on like it is through this whole thread.

  9. At what point can we let the coaches coach? Every arm chair analyst thinks you can just put a guy in and they’ll succeed. I don’t hate this approach at all, did artie burns every down work wonders for us?

  10. I like the idea of giving him a few series of play. He needs to be patient and keep balling. You gotta rotate guys and give breaks on defense. Especially with how much these guys are playing. JPJ plays Pat P’s side. However, Levi Wallace is our Ike Taylor. He gets burnt in coverage but he has some INTs. This first season is very critical to JPJ’s development. Everybody needs to be patient, trust Tomlin and trust the process!

I would definitely ramp up Poderick though
